More Planting

I was sitting at the end of this row, getting all of my seeds
ready to go into the the ground, and I thought, "I have
my camera, why don't I take a before picture and then
post one as the flowers come up."
So I did. I planted Zinnias, Larkspur, 4 O'clock s,
Sunflowers, Lots of them. I also planted a whole
field of pumpkins and our first planting of corn.

It takes me about a hour to hula-hoe the whole thing
right now. With hot weather here this week, the weeds
will grow like crazy and I am sure it will take longer than
a hour.
I was sitting in the shade today, and there always is a breeze,
so the cottonwoods were shimmering and the meadowlarks were
singing the morning in. I could hear the sound of the bees in the hollyhocks.
My chickens were visiting among themselves and the new little rooster was trying out
his new crow.
One of my cats came and rubbed her furry little self on my legs, and
the dog was laying at my feet wishing I would throw a ball.
The sky was full of mare's tales and the jets were racing all over
the sky, and I was glad I was sitting under a tree, watching life.

" Lord Jesus, Master of my life, my very breath is in your
hands. Remind me throughout the hours of this day to depend
on you for the help I need and to ask You for it."
(From A Lamp for My Feet, p. 112)
"In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me
bold with strength in my soul."
(Psalm 138:3)
Today is June 1st, very different from June 1st of last year. I look
back and I knew that there would be dark days ahead, and as hard
as those days were, I am thankful that I am here and sorrow, is
replaced with joy, and God is always good.
Happy Tuesday!

What a beautiful post! The way you described everything as you were sitting in the shade is so peaceful, so full of God's creation and beauty! I can almost hear the meadowlarks! Your last paragraph describes your heart at peace after a hard year.....I loved how you summed it all up with "God is always good". And indeed He is.
Thank you for blessing us all with your thoughts. So special!

Good Afternoon Kim, I have just come in from working in my flower beds, and wanted to come by and see what you have been up to. And as always am so blessed to read your thoughts, I like the idea of taking the before picture. I was thinking the same about mine today, but once I was out there I didn't want to come and get my camera. lol I might this evening as I will go back when it cools off. We have had much needed rain and very warm, lets change that to hot temps. It feels like a sauna, but this is what it takes for them to grow. My Zinnias are up and some are blooming. We haven't planted our Sunflowers yet, hopefully soon.
I am so thankful for our paths crossing, I think of you often and just would love to be neighbors, Maybe if not here on earth, we will have our beautiful mansions and gardens side by side in heaven.
Hugs,'Sue

I can't wait to see some of your before and after pictures too.
As a gardener you are a pro while I am just a muddling along novice. I could learns so much from you.
I am so glad you stopped by for a rest. :)
