Today on Tuesday

Today it is very clear and the trees are starting to change
into gold. I thought this looked so pretty.
Amy at Verde Farm is having a give away. She is having
a First Snow-First Giveaway. If you haven't stopped
in and visited with Amy at Verde Farm you should. She has
the prettiest animals and a lovely farm. She is such a
super lady and the give away is wonderful.

Today is another busy day. I am doing my post now,
as I am going Christmas shopping with my daughter this
afternoon. Then tonight we have my husband's work
Christmas Party. If I remember I will take my camera.
It is being held in what used to be the prettiest church in town.
I was in a wedding there when I was in high school and I just loved
the inside. It was the First Baptist Church.

They sold it to build a bigger church and because it is across the street
from the court house now, it became law offices and a place called the Bell
Tower Club. It just breaks my heart. The bar is where the baptismal used to be
and the stage is where the pastor used to stand. They left the pictures on
the walls when the people that built the church first broke ground. It just makes
me so sad to see it. When we go to this place, I always feel like someone is scratching
finger nails over a chalk board. I know God is not in buildings but it still gets to me.

It is still a very beautiful place. My husband's boss is a very sweet man. He just likes
different kinds of entertainment for Christmas parties. This year is is a game show.
In order to answer a question, you have to hit yourself in the head with a plastic bat,
my husband said to tell you that you are wearing a hard hat. :)

Last year is was a magician. The year before a murder mystery. Last year we sat
at a table with a couple that the wife is from Russia who talked about the wonders
of Communism. Also at the table was a lady, who was from a country that now has
a dictator and she had to flee to the United States. I was a nervous wreck listening to
the conversations. I never knew if we were going to have a international incident.

I have already told my husband I am not playing. So we will see.

Have a lovely Tuesday, Thank you so much for you lovely and sweet comments
yesterday, they really ministered to me deeply.

~Kim~

You could not have described the church/club scene any better. "fingernails on a chalkboard"
Sounds like a fun evening - hope you let us know how it went.

You made me laugh at the Christmas 'party' nightmare table-seating scenario! I can only imagine you were ready to leave any second! :) Good luck!

If you have an international incident, make sure to tell the reporters you blog name. Think of all the visitors.

Ohhh Kim, that does not sound like a Merry Christmas party to me. Hope you at least come back with some funny stories!

Sounds like a fun game ... for a youth group. Not a bunch of business folks and their wives. Hope you have fun anyway!

I haven't been to a company Christmas party in yearsssssssssssssss, well that is mainly because we were the boss! That sounds so funny!! You can ask my husband, he would love it and I would be horrified if they asked me to play. LOL
The church...take pictures...what irony, in a church whose policy for years was against drinking...not these days, but it was back when that church was built.

Have fun!! Enjoy!!! Laugh!!!...I would be red in the face and trying to find an excuse to hide, now that is when it is good to have a baby at home, so you can say you have to leave!!!

Hope you had a great day shopping with your daughter, Kim, and thanks for the laugh about your husband's boss and his games. So funny, I can just see you hitting yourself in the head. Enjoy and let us know how it goes.
Hugs,
Sue

Kim, I hope that you get to sit with someone who has something in common with you at this year's party. I hope also that you find some nice gifts while doing your Christmas shopping. JB

Kim, I hope the party went well. The shopping, too. That is sad about the church, but at least it is being used for something, rather than sitting there empty.

Kim,
I totally get what you mean about the church being turned into that, it seems blaphemous. Even though God isn't confined to a building, it was a building built to worship Him, not the things of this world. Anyways, I digress, I went back and read your last post about your Mom's passing. Yes, we will all be reunited, yay! My Grandma passed away 14 years ago on Dec. 4, and that's still a hard day for us, but knowing that I'll see her again someday is such a comfort. May His peace which surpasses all understanding guard your heart and mind this Christmas season, God Bless You..Lisa ;-)
