Monday Morning

I was thinking today of a blog post. It is hard to come up
with something when the garden is not a garden but soil.
Not to mention the weeds that are growing like... weeds.
So I thought I know I will give you a book report or a series of
book reports about what I have been reading and watching.

I thought I will give you a disclaimer. I don't watch T.V. in fact
when they changed it to digital tuners I didn't change so I couldn't
watch it if I wanted too, so anything I watch comes from Netflix.
So what I have watched from Netflix has been Downton Abbey.
We watched that on instant which was a first for my husband and me.
The kids do it all of the time.
We are this weekend re-watching Cranford and Return to Cranford.
Elisabeth Gaskill wrote the books and I enjoy her books and I have enjoyed
this series. The BBC has done a very nice job with both of these series.

The books I have been reading this week are as follows:

The Bible

Wild Horses by Dick Francis

Straight also by Dick Francis, I am a big fan

Death of a Chimney Sweep by M.C. Beaton

The Fixer Upper by Mary Kay Andrews

The Puzzle of Ancient Man By Donald Chittak

The Mystery of History Volume III Linda Locour Hobar

Catastrophism and the Old Testament Donald Wesley Patten

Gone Away Lake By Elisabeth Enright

I love books by Elisabeth Enright. She is an author
I read out loud to my kids when they were small and she
writes so beautifully that it is like reading poetry.
She also writes and what come through is her love of life.

I have also been reading these:

I am dreaming of seeds and gardens and being outside
in the garden. I hope that this week I can play a bit outside,
if the wind doesn't blow and the rain doesn't pour.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
My 3 oldest grandsons turn 4 this week. Time does
go by so fast.

Wow! You are a "heavy reader"!! :-) I can't believe it,but I watched Downton Abbey on Netflix this weekend, too! Sad the way Mary and Edith treat each other. Aren't you glad you have two daughters who love each other? Do you know if there are more than 7 episodes? I hope so, it would be nice to have a happy ending! :-)

Applauding you on your 'no tv watching'! I watch too much of it, but at least I try to keep my hands busy while sitting there. Dick Francis...been a fan of his for a bazillion years. I should make a list of my fave authors sometime. Have a great day!

Good Morning Kim, I am so glad that you take the time to read, I used to read more than I do now, as a matter of fact I would be reading four books together. Can't do that anymore. We don't have cable but most of our tv is dvd watching . But of course I have to have my friday evening dose of Monk! LOL
Enjoy those grandkids this week as you celebrate their birthday.! And I will wish them a very happy and blessed Birthday now!
We had storms yesterday with high winds, so glad no damage, today is sunny and calm.
Hugs,
Sue

I used to be a big reader but now it's rare. I guess my free time goes to crafting (was going to say hooking but thought some of your readers might be shocked!) Rug hooking....
I have about 10 books downloaded on the e-reader. Maybe this summer when its too hot to hook (rug hook)

We haven't had TV for at least 7 years. But we do like our movies.
That is an amazing reading list and a nice variety.
