I feel like sometimes when Friday gets here that
I have lived two weeks instead of one. I learned some
things this week I would like to share.
Before my daughter got married she would always
use the apple peeler for me when I was going to make
apple pie or anything like that. I prefer a knife.
Then she got married and she wanted to take the apple
peeler with her. I was happy with a knife. I like peeling apples
and trying to get the skin off on one unbroken peel. I have only
done it once.
Last Christmas her MIL got her a apple peeler for Christmas.
She gave mine back. On Wednesday, I decided to use it.
I figured it out after many tries, but the thing I learned was,
Learn how to operate the apple peeler before your daughter gets
married. I have relied on my children too much and consequently
I have forgotten how to do simple things.

on her gorgeous clothes and you will get to experience her
in all of her finery.

Happy Friday. I just ran home from school on my lunch break to get my pocketbook. (forgot this morning) Got to make this quick!!! I depended on my kids for all of our TV,dvd remote issues, shoveling snow and running to the store for milk and bread. Have a great weekend. My brother is getting married tomorrow so I have been so busy with getting suits, shoes, high heels and things for the kids /adults I haven't had much time on the computer.
I am going to have this issue this year when I start decorating for Christmas. Birdie helps every single year with everything and this year, she's in Texas until the 18th. Our oyster roast is on the 17th so I have to decorate before she gets home. I will be so LOST!
And your peeler is so much nicer than mine. Mine is the same design, but it's made of much cheaper, more flimsy materials, so it doesn't peel right. I'm glad you've had to learn how to use yours. It's an awesome little toy. :-)
My daughter still decorates my Christmas tree - I've learned not to even try because if I do she just comes over and takes it all off and does it her way - which I must admit does look better.

Simple things are the best. I think we in the modern day have forgottent how to enjoy simple things. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I like a knife too. And by the sounds of Kessie's comment, she might want your peeler back! :)
I can't make coffee like my Sam can. And after visiting with the boys this weekend, I learned that Ben can pan fry haddock with a crusty sear and a nice salsa to top it off. He's gotta come cook for us soon! LOL
I like to use a knife, too. Some peelers are better than others, though.
It's a good idea to make something apple-y! I think I might!
A wonderful story...sometimes we take things for grated.
I have two apple peelers, so I get two girls cranking them while I use my trusty old knife and we get a lot done quickly. Cute story. You've been on my mind today. I'll write soon.

I learned to peel an apple watching my dad (oddly enough not my mom, although she cooked and baked well)... but my dad began at the top (stem end) and peeled in one long circular strip... I'm not too picky but I can if I concentrate get a one-piecer!
I had to do that with the computer and my camera.
I still have to ask for help occasionally, but I can do what I did to do on a regular basis ALL BY MYSELF!! :-) Be sure and enter my give away!
