Monday Chatter.
This weekend, I caught a cold. The cold wasn't as bad
as the three day headache. I knew I was starting to
get sick and I decided I needed to get lots of work finished
while the white blood count was up and do all the things
that were on my mind. You know just in case it turned into something
and I might not be able to get out of bed? Tell me I am not the
only one to do that?
So on Friday, my number one priority was visiting all of my
grand children. So I did. I made sure my marrieds were fine.
So then If I got sick my mind would rest.
I returned my library books, just in case, I couldn't go to the library
and the books might be overdue.
I ran to the grocery store so there were snacks in the house, in case
I couldn't cook.
On Saturday, I thought, well, I still feel good enough, so I can clean
the chicken coop so they will be fine for awhile and fill up all of the feeders.
Then we picked the rest of the pumpkins.
I got busy with the stitchery I had been working on
and turned them into pin keeps.
Then I hung them up on my sign.
I think I need to make another sign with some other word.
I did enjoy making that sign. I did have my husband cut wood
for me so I could make signs, but my body finally said no more.
So I had to quit.
I decided I would rather work on my rug than try and take a nap.
So I finished my rug!!!
So here it is, I am working on the last two rows of black
around the outside and then tomorrow I will block it
and finish the edges. So even though my goal was for
October 1st, I didn't miss it by much.
I am already thinking about doing another rug. I really
do enjoy rug hooking.
So that is what I did this weekend. I am feeling much better
now and I will be lots better once this headache goes away for good.
This is birthday week for us this week so I don't have time to be under
the weather.
We have lovely storms coming in this week and I am so excited. I can't wait.
Finally October weather.
I just wanted to check in this Monday,
I hope all is well with you.

you are one crazy woman. instead of resting your body when you start getting sick, you hurry up and do everything possible just in case you feel worse! ugh!
Kim,
Glad you are feeling better. I don't usually have the energy to get things done when I am starting to get sick, but when I was getting ready to have surgery last fall I was doing everything I could think of. Cooking and cleaning, and any errand I thought might have needed to be done (I was a little nuts)
For colds I keep zinc in the house and start taking at the first sign of anything
LOL! I cleaned out all the boxes and assembled the crib when my white blood cell count was high. It must just be what you do. I'm glad you're feeling better, though. It's just a crappy headcold.
Heh, when I was getting sick I scrubbed all my kitchen appliances. This morning I was wondering if you were sick since you hadn't posted. I'm glad you're feeling better now and Yay! Finished rug! It looks very cute. :)
My goodness Kim, you are just like an Ever-ready Bunny. You keep going as long as your battery has power. When I feel a cold coming on I slow down and conserve my energy to fight the bad cold. You are such a caring person. I'm glad that you are feeling better. I hope that your headache goes away like right now... Drink plenty of water. When I get dehydrated I get headaches.
Kim, thanks so much for leaving such a heart warming comment on my post today. This was the first time that I did copy and paste. It took me three times to get it right. That's probably why Cheri couldn't get on my blog today. You may laugh at me but I had never learn how to copy and paste. I had to look in the Macs for Dummies book. ha,ha. It's taking me a long time to learn so I make sure I learn something new every day. Hugs, JB
My comment was so long I forgot to comment on your rug and pin keeps. All beautiful. You put me to shame. JB
Well maybe I need to become sick more often, is this the secret to getting things accomplished? I do hope you are feeling better, If I lived close by I would bring you homemade chicken soup.SHHHHHHHHHH I don't want my girls to hear this! Hugs, Julie.
Kim
I'm so glad you didn't get to feeling any worse.
I love your new sign-so neat! Of course I like the rug and your cross-stitch too. You really got it done before Halloween!! Were is it going? On the floor or the wall?
I haven't had time to read any good books lately. How about you?
Love the way the rug turned out.
Wow! You accomplished so much, and with a headache, too! Good job!
The rug's so cute, Kim! I love it!
I'm really enjoying October beginnings, too! Happy Birthday all around!
You definitely got more done being sick than I did being well. Wow! I hope your headache is better. I get bad ones, so I really sympathize.
Blessings,
Marcia
I cannot believe how much you accomplish when you're feeling sick!!
I noticed we follow a lot of the same folks, so I wanted to come over and say hi :-)
Sounds like nesting before a baby...you are more productive feeling under the weather than I am feeling great!
Hope the sickness passes you by and have a wonderful birthday week
When I feel like I'm getting sick, I run around like a mad woman trying to get everything done so I can really rest when it hits. There are two realities for that 1- I make myself worse and 2- I never get everything done anyway! I like your rug. Feel better, sweetie!
Crazy how we panic at the thought of being sick. I've never tested to see... I wonder if the house really would fall apart at the seams if I didn't 'handle' things before being down for the count! Actually, we need to do those things, don't we Kim. It feels good to know everyone will be less inconvenienced and the house in good working order when we are back to ourselves again. Either that, or we know we'll feel less guilt about the crafting we do while down... ;)
Glad you are feeling better and I love your ghoulish creations! Where do you get your fabulous patterns? Internet?
Blessings, Debbie
Thanks for telling!
I'm off now to check your recommendations. I agree, these patterns are almost impossible to find in stores now...
~~Debbie
From a nurse's point of view, next time you feel like you're getting sick - REST! ;-) Enjoyed your pics though...
You are NOT by yourself in getting things done 'just in case'- I do it all the time! Around here, if I don't do it, it won't get done! So, I like to be ahead of the game.
That rug is just precious! I've got to try my hand at one!
The seeds arrived!!! Thank you so very much!
Haha...Sounds like you were just too busy to get full-fledged sick:D Good for you. You seem a fighter....but a crafty one at that! I LOVE that HOME sign!!!!
You're like me - I clean my room when I think I'm getting sick so I have a nice place to languish!
Glad you are feeling better - I like your rug! Thanks for leaving a comment at Home in Douglas - I love comments!
I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. I pray the headache goes away soon. My goodness, you get more done when you feel bad that I do when I feel fine!! :-)
So glad you are feeling better Kim, I do admire you so much, I would probably have gone to bed. You amaze me with your stamina, I need your secret!~smile~
Love all your needle work!
Now I prescribe at least one day of rest, and maybe two!!
Hugs,
Sue
I do the exact same thing when I feel like I'm getting sick - I rush to do the chores. The Halloween rug looks great. Do you have a spot picked out for it yet?
Cute! I like the rug and the sign. If you retire the sign, mail it to me, I love it. I found one huge thing we don't have in common. When I am starting to get sick, I am a wimp and know that my immune system tanks badly so I go to bed early to minimize the time I am sick. I wish I had your burst of energy. I have an icky headache too. I will pray you get all better FAST
