Today On Saturday

When I first started blogging I thought I would do it for a little bit
while the garden was growing and then I would stop. I didn't know
I would be doing this as long as I have now, nor did I think I would ever
have as many people I call friends coming by to read my thoughts. I did not
know that my life would be so profoundly changed. It had been awhile since
I told you how much you all mean to me.
Each time I write a post or leave a comment I get braver. When I first started
blogging, I hate to mention how many times I went to leave a comment and
then chickened out.
Receiving comments though that still boggles my mind. I just wanted to thank
you for taking the time out of your day to tell me what you think. I appreciate
each and every one.

I am re-posting a blog I wrote about his time last year. I still love it and it is to
me very personal. God gave me these when I was going through some of the
deepest waters I have ever walked. Each one is special because they got
me through dark days and dark nights and today I can look back and see
that never once were we alone. God does great things, even when it isn't
what I wanted. Sometimes God allows things worse than you could
have imagined and then you see how the whole time you were safe
in His loving arms.

"A pearl I'm told, is a wound healed."
(Gail MacDonald)

" God, she said, " Carefully and lovingly takes broken
pieces of our lives and glues them back together again."
(Ruth Graham)

We ponder God's withholding or bestowing,
and while we pine for what was never given,
and what was taken,
Today slips through our fingers.
(Theresa Burleson)

Make me faithful, Lord. Make me humble enough
to keep me on doing what I know I am supposed to
be doing, and joyfully expectant of finding you close
by while I work.

My rules for life:
Faithful is HE who calls you, and HE also will bring
it to pass.
Rejoice always.
Pray without ceasing.
IN EVERYTHING give thanks; For this is
God's will for you.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16,17,18,24)

Thanks for allowing me the joy of sharing my heart today.
Have a very beautiful weekend.

The quote from Theresa Burlson spoke to me especially.
I, too, am so blessed by my blogging friends. It has even restored my faith in humanity. Yes, there were times when I would wonder what had become of our world. But in blogging I've found that there are still alot of good and decent folks out there! And I do so appreciate your post too!
Blessings-Kimberly

We are the fortunate ones, Kim. The ones who are blessed by your posts...the ones who love to visit and read your funny (and sometimes strange) stories...the ones who just plain love you.

Oh do I ever know what you mean about blogging and our blogging friends. I too had NO idea how long I would end up sticking to this, or how much a part of my life you have all become. I've laughed, cried, prayed and encouraged and been encouraged by soo many of you. Isn't it just wonderful? Love your quotes, but especially that verse. Have a wonderful week-end! HUGS

Kim dearest, you are a wonderful friend with the soul of wise old woman. I mean that in a positive way, like you are wise like someone who have lived a long time.

I cherish our friendship and I delight in your straight forward sharing. I too have been surprised by how I have grown by blogging and I must say that my blogging friends have built me up, one comment at a time. Have supported me when I was down and cheered me on in my efforts.

Kim, we are blessed by your sweetness. JB

I would like to return a 'thank you' to you for putting yourself out in the blogosphere as you do- you are such an inspiration to me. The Theresa Burleson quote today spoke directly to me. Sometimes it's the beauty you see and share in your every day life. Sometimes it's the poetic beauty of your words. But always, an inspiration.
