FOR TODAY
Outside my window...Fog and drizzle, I was expecting sunshine. I know though I could jump in
the car and take off to the beach and it is 80 degrees there, I am not yet though, ready for
warm weather. Just knowing, makes me feel happy.
I am thinking...That I really have so much to be thankful for, my cupboards are full of food,
I have clean water and electricity.
I am thankful for...The freedom to do what I want. If I want to write a blog or jump in my car or
even say uncharitable things about the government. I have the freedom to do so.
From the learning rooms...I think my learning room this week is to let go and open my hands and let God be the one in charge. To live in the now, and not in the what ifs that I seem to be
letting my mind wander to in January.
From the kitchen...This week, I plan to stick closer to my Weight Watcher plan, Not think I can make yummy treats, those blasted cupcakes called my name every night. I could smell the chocolate from my chair. I chewed lots of gum and drank lots of water. So glad when the last one got eaten up by a kid who needs to gain weight.
I am wearing...Wow, same black sweats again. I guess I don't mix it up very much. But they are my favorites and they are warm.
I am creating...I am almost through my workbasket and will be starting some new project later this week, like continuing hooking my rugs.
I am going...to be staying home a bunch this week as the college kids go back to school.
We have a orange Volkswagen that my husband is restoring and it is drive-able but it is a bug and sometimes going around a corner the doors fly open, so I do technically have a car to drive.
I am reading...Well still making my way through the new Father Tim book but I have been reading Death of a Glutton by M.C. Beaton. I am almost finished with the series I am going to start Bleak House next by Charles Dickens. Something comforting about Dickens.
I am hoping...For a quieter week. Less late nights and more uniform schedule.
I am hearing...My husband is playing a game on the XBox called Dirt Two so the sound
of race cars roaring through the house. The sounds of the kids voices from upstairs.
Around the house...The twilight is again creeping in and the fog is getting thicker as the sun
slips down into the dark. Tonight everyone will be home and I can lock the doors and bedtime
will be nice.
One of my favorite things...Sitting and having coffee as the sun goes down with my husband.
A few plans for the rest of the week: To walk more than I did this week. To get my berry vines trimmed and get my flowers cleaned out and trim my herbs that are going crazy in this cool weather.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing... I miss my flowers.
Once again I want to thank Peggy for the Simple Woman's
Daybook.
I hope your Monday is a very special day.

Kim, today your blog feels like the calm after the storm. It's fresh and clear. It feels serene and at peace. You are back in the seat, at the control. Your plan seems is very reasonable and doable.
I've been busy doing last minute preparations before leaving on Tuesday.
I hope that you have a great week.
Blessings, JB
Kim,
I agree with Julia - you sound more centered today. I hope you enjoy your coffee. I just brewed myself a cup of butterscotch caramel coffee. Yummm, I wish we could share it sitting in one of our kitchens together but instead we can drink it together virtually!
Amen Sister! Good to be grateful for sure.Cupcakes sound so good though Mmmm..........now I want some.~Cheers Kim
Love the photo of your trees and house and of course the field of dreams. :)
Glad you're re-centered again, dearie!
I think I'm going to do these questions tonight. I need something to ease me back into writing.
Also, I love that picture up in the top, with the mother and the children. It's so pretty.
i really enjoy these simple woman's daybook posts,
as they give us a fun glimpse into your busy life.
good luck with weight watchers and more walking.
i need to do the same!!!
Keep up your good work! Florence
sounds like a good life Kim! now... if only it didn't keep getting interrupted!! :)
I love the picture down yor road with the house at the end, so beautiful!
Your blackeyed susans are beautiful!!
It's all good!
I always enjoy reading daybooks Kim, and I did enjoy yours so much. 80 degree is something I won't see until May or June.Th ephoto made me long for spring and summer, and being out in my garden I am beginning to think about my garden seeds, I am going to grow some different herbs this year.I guess this longing is because, I have been out and about walking. While out today, I noticed we still had some snow and ice hanging around, Your discipline about the cupcakes is so encouraging to me.
Hugs,
Sue
Fun post...yea for your strong-will on not eating those wonderful cupcakes. I am enjoying my work outs more and more...doing a walking DVD and I am really feeling it.
Kids back to college...here to, even if they don't live at home I know what is going on and two start back.
Projects..sounds fun..the beach sounds wonderful!! We are in the 50's with sunshine...have a great week!!
Hey Kim! Proud of you for avoiding the cupcakes. It's hard when they are calling your name, isn't it? Love your header picture...such a nice contrast between the evergreen and the yellow leaves. If you haven't visited Yolanda today, you should. She posted a beautiful video about the small moments in life. You will love it! Love and blessings to you for a wonderfully peaceful week!
You should feel great about overcoming those cupcakes Kim-I don’t think I could have :(
I know you will miss the college kids and I hope they all get the semester off to a good start. I too love drinking coffee with my husband in the evenings and we dont’ do it enough.
Hugs, Amy
