My Projects This Week

This week I worked on projects. I got a bunch done
on the cat rug. I never knew that my hand would get so
tired I would not be able to pull one more loop. I am slow
and I think last night I worked on it 3 straight hours. It is fun
and I am enjoying myself. Can you see I am just inching my way
to the face. I have put in and ripped out so many times. I have
cut my wool real thin but it just doesn't look right. I will keep
fooling with it until I get the face to look like a face and not a blob.

I never showed I don't think of my rug that I used
the Oxford Punch Needle on. I steamed it today. I am
getting ready tonight to do the finishing part of it. I am going to
put in in front of the wood stove. At least for a little while.

This was my counted cross stitch I did last week, I finally
put some wool on the back of it and stuffed it and hung
it up. It looks just like I wanted it too.

This was my little practice mat. I drew something on
burlap and tried my hand at this and I wanted to try
finishing one because I had never done that so I figured
that if I had a little project to start on it would be practice not
to mention, the steaming and every thing to get one finished.
I also wanted to do one in a day to try and make myself faster
at hooking.
I just thought I would share this today. I have a cold and my brain
is foggy.
I hope you have a nice weekend and a break before this next storm
hits next week.

They are all wonderful and so beautiful...you are very talented and creative. What a great rug for in front of a fireplace.

Your projects are amazing. The cat rug is coming right along and it looks fabulous. You have caught on like a pro.
I hope your cold isn't to bad and you feel better for the weekend.

Your grandson is going to LOVE that cat rug! It looks really great! Good luck with that silly kitty face!

There's no way I'd put that punch rug in front of the fireplace. It would be up on a wall somewhere - safe from feet and flame! It's really pretty. You are a talented one, my dear!

I'm still in awe of your woodwork. My star/tree/heart hangs in my office now so I can see it when I'm on the laptop. :)

Kim, I love your rugs, especially the cat one. He looks so cute. You have accomplished a lot and that first small heart mat is adorable. Keep it up. JB

The cat one is coming out so good! And I just love the one with the house. I hadn't seen it finished. It's gorgeous!

Why do you have to steam them? What does that do?

The one with the house is my favorite! It just looks so cozy and adorable. You are really talented Kim. I've never hooked anything, not even a fish! :)

Take care of yourself and stay warm and get well...

You've been so busy. I really like both rugs. Other than those little rug hooking kits you can get a Michael's Arts and Craft Stores, I have no experience with rug making. I have seen some really intricate patterns. Today I will primer the ceiling and walls in my new room. Then I will paint. I got a soft Wedgewood green that will look really pretty with the white trim. Have a great weekend.

I'm so impressed (and jealous) of your rugs! Did you create the patterns and choose your yarn, etc? Now I want to do this! Can you give step by step instructions, please? LOL

Hi Kim, :o)

"So Talented, You Are" (That's how Yoda would say it (star Wars :o)

Seriously, I would purchase your creations, they are so detailed and beautiful. I know a lot of love and time goes into that. My grandmother
had made a knit blanket, and it's so special to my mom, she just
lets us have a glance at it. I'm sure it will be mine someday ;o)

God bless your day,
Michele~

WOW! Love all of your projects and the fact you just keep chipping away at them. That's the way to eat an elephant, one bite at a time -grin-. I've been filling up a notebook with ideas and have a bit of knitting to keep me company while waiting on Dave. "Be prepared" is my motto.
