Has this week gone by fast or what? Can you believe it
is going to be Wednesday again. It is time for Wednesday
Words for Weight Loss hosted by Patrice from Everyday
Rurality.
I really enjoy her questions each week. Thank you Patrice
for doing this when I know how very busy you are right now on
your farm.
Now on to the questions for this week.
How about heaven? I made an
apple pie tonight for dinner and as I stood there staring at it I was thinking about
adding it to the bottom of the pie crust and putting the apples on top. I didn't I just
thought about it. I think it should have it's own food group. I mean what doesn't
go good with cream cheese.
Since I am in a state of denial right now about the scale I have tried to keep
off of it. I get so introspective when I know how much I weigh. My son wrote
a poem for me once about the scale. " Scale, scale on the floor, please tell me
I don't weigh more." I was joking about that today the Evil Queens from Walt
Disney wouldn't have a magic mirror but scales. When I am not afraid of it
I weigh every Friday morning.
I should and I have some hanging in my pantry. I forget most of the time though.
When I know I am going to be in the kitchen a long time, I do put one on just
to save my clothes. Then after the holiday or special occasion all of the picture have
me in a apron because I forgot to take it off.
Yes, I love working in the garden.
Tell us about your garden(s).
My garden this year is going to be 7000 square feet.
We have the drip lines all laid out in it and it is almost ready for spring planting. We have
a piece of property that has sandy, river bottom land. It has excellent drainage. In the early
1900s the family who owned it were truck farmers. When my grandparents and parents lived
here we raised cattle. My field of dreams where my garden is now was once the pasture
for the cows. I plant all kinds of vegetables and of course sun flowers. We also grow fruit
and almonds and walnuts. I also grow boysenberries but we took the strawberries out
as just about on every street corner in the spring I can buy them from little strawberry
farms. I also grow different kinds of gourds.
Well of course, I have hugged my husband, and the kids
and the dog and a couple of chickens and of course Hobo kitty. I have hugged her lots
but that is for a whole post.
I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday. Thank you Patrice for some really great
questions this week.
~Kim~

I can't wait for all my blog friends pictures of their vegetables and fruits. My yard is small so I am hoping to have a salad table this year, I thought that would be really fun. You must be so thrilled to have sunflowers on your table all summer. How happy your table will look!! Hugging is must. I work at an elementary school and there are no shortages of hugs for me!! Enjoyed my visit as usual.
Just stopped in to say hello...love to read your Wednesday Words for Weight Loss! 7000 square feet...I cannot even imagine! {grin}
from field of dreams to field of greens, and yellows, and oranges, and reds... :)
laughed at the Evil Queen's scale!
Loved your answers! You're so right about cream cheese- love it! Your garden sounds amazing! Hubs got our rain barrels all set up and the drip irrigation and I got the raised beds planted...we're just waiting on the veggies!
Let's see, the Evil Disney Queens in the scale would appear in the little window where the numbers are. They would chant "Scale, scale on the floor. You can't fit through the kitchen door. You diet to get rid of that load. I should just turn you into a toad." That, dear friend, is why I don't have a scale!
Your garden sounds wonderful. I don't know what we'd do without drip irrigation.
I see you got your quota of hugs! :)
Kim, you truly do have your "field of dreams",and what a wonderful. blessed life. I have noticed your soil in your photos and it is so rich looking, this is a farmers dream.
I guess i should own a scale, but don't, maybe things might look a bit different if I did. lol
Enjoyed your thoughts so much. Hugs,
Sue
I think cheesecake should be classified as dairy because it makes it sound healthier than dessert and then you don't feel guilty for eating a whole one.
Laughed out loud at the scale poem. Your son is clever and Patrices version is good too.
The scales always intimidate me, too. But, it's a necessary evil to have around just to keep me on track.

Fun post...I don't have a scale, so I only know by my clothes! I would hate to see the numbers...I refused to weigh on my last two pregnancies....LOL
Love that massive garden, It is larger than the whole lot that contains my house.
Oh I am with you on the apron...I have never worn one and then they became so stylish I bought a couple and hung them in plain sight...what happens, I forgot to put them on and when I do remember I still tend to wipe my hands on my back side...where there isn't an apron. My kids are starting to wear mine because it is so new to them.
Have a great day...I am heading out the door to exercise.
I am WAY too scale conscious right now and I am weighing every day which is only frustrating...sigh....once a week is plenty. How I too love cream cheese..is there anyone who doesn't?? 7000 ft of garden?? WOW!! How exciting that must be to plant. Have a good day!
Threw my scale away 2 years ago. Best thing I ever did! :)
Blessings, Debbie
Haha it's good to know that i'm not the only one talking to my scale!
Thanks for the laugh!

Hi Kim, I love your son's poem. Cheesecake is healthy for you and calorie free when you close your eyes before you swallow. That's my secret. My goodness, what a HUGE garden. You need a full time gardener.
Hugs, JB
