Sasha

This is Sasha. I don't want to make anyone mad,
but really, she is the best dog in the world. I don't mean
to be single minded on this but it is true.

She was helping me take pictures the other morning.
She is making sure that there is nothing in the weeds.
See I told you she was smart.

First of all, she is very protective of all of the grandchildren.
She is a baby sitter and keeps her eye on them all of the time. She does
get a little excited and sometimes she has to go outside which is the worst
thing we can do to her. It really hurts her feelings.

Today my son-in-law was playing with my grand son and his Dad was
picking him up and just goofing off, Sasha was sitting on the couch with
me watching very closely not moving very much.

My son-in-law picked up his son and was holding him upside down and my grandson
was laughing but he kind of made a sound, that Sasha jumped up off the couch
and went for my son-in-law barking and so he put my grandson down very slowly
all the while talking to her. I went to her and she made sure my grandson was okay,
before she went and laid back down.

She is the best dog I have ever had and even though I have never considered my self a
dog person, never in my life have I not had a dog. I can't even imagine not ever having a dog
just like I can't imagine not having a cat. Or chickens. I like cows too. I have always
had cows until I got married. I miss cows sometimes. I had a horse too. I miss having
a horse, but I don't think I will ever get another horse. I got afraid and getting afraid
of a horse is a bad thing. I started getting hurt and it was dangerous. I guess
I will stick with animals that don't kill you when they get afraid. My husband is glad.

For me not to have an animal would be a very sad life. I wish sometimes that I could
just get in the car and go somewhere without having to worry about animals.
But seriously, I really don't think I could live without some kind of animal.

I like nothing better on a Saturday morning than being out in my chicken pen with
the "girls," and cleaning their houses and rearranging chickens and just fooling around
and fixing up nest boxes and letting them wander out in the garden with me, and
listen to them singing and I think it makes the best way to have a
Saturday morning.
I hope your Saturday is peaceful too.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

(Psalm. 107:6)

I agree Kim, I could not imagine life without animals in it. Our animals make our life so full and they are like family. Glad your dog is so wonderful-they are so special!

I will never forget the day she pinned Shelby to the ground to protect Tyty. She really is any amazing dog!

Sasha sounds like a keeper. I can't imagine not having a dog. Millie has been such a joy in our lives. She isn't a pet, she is family - just like Sasha.

Yeah, that was amazing. I wish we'd been standing there with a video camera. :-)

Sasha looks really sweet! I'm your newest follower. I found you when I was visiting Kent Island Red. I think us farm gals should stick together! BTW- turns out I was an Elinor Dashwood when I took the Austen quiz. Once again, we have something in common. Please drop by and visit my blog. I love visits, comments, and followers!
Have a good Sunday!
