Welcome Spring!

It is has been a very nice week so far. I am sore though from cleaning flowerbeds. My flowerbeds were part of a pasture longer than they have been flowerbeds. So I get lots of things that cows would love to eat, but are just plain ole work to get out like... clover. I was pulling the clover out and I could in my mind hear the sound of a cow breaking the stems and the chewing sound they make as they hog down the grass and then I thought of the far away look in the cows eyes as they burp and chew their cud out in the warm sunshine. I thought it would be nice to have cow eat all of this clover instead of me pulling it but then they would eat the flowers too.

Today our " Mostly Sunny," Is cloudy and windy. The heaters keep clicking on so I know it is not as warm as they said it would be today.

Yesterday for spring break, it was a nice day too. My husband started a fire in the fire pit and we roasted hot dogs and had S'mores for dinner. It was very nice sitting with our kids talking around the fire and everyone cooking hot dogs the way they like.

I found out, I like my stove. I was hungry as I had been working all day and that salad at lunch was long past.
My hot dog didn't cook as fast as I wanted. I wanted to be a good sport, but fond thoughts of the microwave did pop into my head. My first hot dog was barely warm, I just put lots of mustard and relish on it.
Did you know ash adds a bit of crunch? I pretended it was pepper.
I never make S'mores for myself to eat. I had two last night. They tasted better than I remembered.
Have I ever mentioned that I can't eat chocolate? I did last night, it was good. I really expected to wake up with bright lights flashing in my brain as I get migraines so bad from chocolate. I like living on the edge.
I was great this morning, just sore from the flowerbeds.

I just thought I would check in, my daughter wants to cook dinner tonight. I like this spring break thing. I like other people cooking. I am feeling rather spoiled I admit.
Now, I am going out into the partly sunny, to feed my chickens,
that is if I can walk. :)
Have a great Wednesday!
~Kim~

you made me laugh 1) the look and sound of the cow 2) the longing for your stove/microwave 3) ash crunch 4) living on the edge.

Having hot-dogs cooked in the fire pit sounds so nice like I used to do years ago with the kids. Roasting marshmallows on a stick or branch. How did the ashes get on your hot dog anyway? lol....
You are so funny Kim.

Cleaning flower bed can be hard on the butts at first especially if they've been idle all winter, hahaha. It gets easier as we go along.
Have a great mid week. Hugs. JB

we have migraines in common. :(
i'm glad your s'mores didn't trigger
one!

stretch those legs and get some extra
potassium for the soreness.

blessings!

Have you ever kept goats? They are worse than cows!
Our goats would destroy Mom's flowerbeds! They had to go!
For me, coffee is my migraine trigger I'm so glad it's not chocolate as I could live on it!
Happy spring
Christine

Hot dogs and S'mores! Nothing better, especially when enjoyed over a fire!

"I pretended it was pepper". HAHAHA. A little camp fire flavor never hurt anyone :). Your family meal sounds absolutely perfect.

LOL! Oh no! I hope you can get around OK. At least your flower beds are clean. :) Yep, I woke up this morning and thought "what happened to our 80 degrees?" Oh well. It is supposed to be 80s this weekend. I can't wait until Sunday! :D

I'm glad you didn't come down with a migraine, but hot dogs and s'mores would have been worth it, man. That sounds delish!

A little bit of ash on your hot dog eh? I think I'll pass on that cooking tip. Enjoy your partly sunny. Our weatherman predicted snow for today and wouldn't you know it... this time he was right!!

Blessings, Debbie

I can't imagine living without chocolate! I'm glad you did not wake up with a headache. The hot dog roast sounds like fun. We always loved sitting around the campfire talking at the end of the day when we camped with our kids. It was one of the best parts of the day. We always did marshmallows..sometimes smores. They are tasty! :-)

Oh a fire pit, hot dogs, smores and family sounds just wonderful to me. No chocolate huh? That would be hard. Glad you didn't get sick. Enjoy the rest of your day, and rest those sore muscles a bit! HUGS

A friend of mine can't eat chocolate for that same reason. We make our s'mores in the microwave. Not as much fun as a campfire, but they still hit the spot.

Once again you provide us with such real visions through your writing! Every time I go out in the garden now I think, "Now, how would Kim describe this?"
