I Almost Quit Blogging Today

This morning started like any other morning. I poured my self a cup of coffee. I had a hour before school. I had gone out earlier and took pictures so I had new ones for my blog post. I thought this picture was so pretty that  I was going to put it as my picture at the top of the blog. I went to upload and I had a message that I had exceeded my room for uploads.

Being pretty sure I knew what I was doing I clicked on the message. I don't think I read very well or follow directions when I am panicked but what I thought I read was if I changed to a new template it would fix my problem. So I did. My life then became a nightmare for 4 hours.

I know now that a few of you clicked on my blog and saw the mess I had made. It makes me laugh because I was blowing it big time for all of the world to see. I clicked here and I clicked there, I clicked on blogger everywhere...My daughter walked in to tell me bye and she asked me what I was doing. " I said, in a very stressed out voice, I was getting ready to delete my whole blog and quit this whole thing, I was sick and tired of blogger messing with my life." She said, " Nooooo Mom, don't do it." I snapped back to my senses, she said to go get my son he could help. Which a few minutes later he came in with a cup of coffee and sat down and very calmly told me what to do and where to go and in just a few minutes got my blog looking normal. My youngest son came in and said, " Are we going to do school today?" Then I said, Yes, of course, I was only two hours late."
Later after my blood pressure returned to normal, I came in and tweaked and got things looking okay but not the same as it was before. The good thing about this is if forced me to use the new blogger, it made me work inside the confines and  it made me learn new things. I did feel shaky though for a long time. It made me see how much I really do love writing a blog. It made me realize how much I have become involved in
people's lives and to be without that would be terribly hard. More than I thought, I always think that I could some how just stop. Today I found myself saying, I don't know if I could. Not in a weird addicted way, but being thankful I have made so many friends and I love sharing your lives.

It was funny after I had got my blog back to looking normal, my son said, " Now I am going to sit right here and you are going to show me from start to finish how to fix your blog again, you are going to do it just like you did and I am going to watch you." So I did I went back through all of the steps. I think now, I could not break it so bad now and I could get it back to normal. I just don't want to for a very long time.

That was my day today, I am so glad I am back. I did have to buy more space but that is okay, it will be a long, long time before I fill that much space up.

So if you stopped by today and saw my strange blog, It really looked like Pinterest. 4 years of blog posts were in a mosaic. It looked pretty but it would take years to load on computer screens. I do like normal.

Have a nice Thursday,
~Kim~

Oh boy, when this happens to me, I'm going to email you and your son can help me! You had to buy more space? I'd be interested in hearing more. Glad your son was able to help you!!

Oh wow! How much space does Blogger give you, then? Their new interface dumps everything on their photo share thingy, so I don't know how to tell much much space I have left. I'm glad you got it fixed. Nothing worse than a website blowing up.

Oops! the deleted comment is from me, I was logged in on another g-mail account. It's late and I am tired lol

Please excuse me for lol, I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to do the very same thing, but like you I didn't for the same reason. Well dear friend I guess we are stuck with one another, and for that I am most thankful. I am also thankful to be in the same boat with you as I feel as I am in great company.~smile~
Having said all this, the main reason I deleted my last blog was because of using my space and I thought I would try and outsmart blogger. So I ended up buying more space. Oh what a mess I made!
I didn't get by earlier so I didn't get to see your mosaics. Your photos are always so pretty, and I enjoy reading of your day.
Well, I better go, dh is waiting for me , he says it's late, and I have an early day tomorrow, if weather permits I will be painting.
But first I want to go see you front porch chat.
Hugs,
Sue

Oh, that's everyone's nightmare, isn't it? Good thing you have a son that can help. Mine will be getting married and moving to So. Korea for a year. I'm going to miss him, but I also think, "Who's going to help me with the computer?" lol

I'm glad you got things back to normal :)
Blessings,
Marcia

Hi Kim, I totally understand your frustration-I keep getting the same message too-and I don't even use Picasso...still haven't figured it out but waiting until I get home to have my tech-savey daughter help me. GRRRR. Just when I think I've got things down, they change it again. I actually think they are trying to make $$$ by charging for the added space.
Glad you got some help.
Hugs, Noreen

Oh, I too got a fright that something horrible had happened.... And then I thought of our weekly porch chats.... Nooooo! You can't quit!

So, I'm relieved it was computer issues, though they drive me NUTS too!

What would we do without our kids when it comes to computers?! x

I did peek in yesterday morning and found that huge mosaic. It was pretty but it was enormous. Somewhere in the mess I found the home button and clicked it.

I'm SO, SO, SO glad that you didn't quit! I would have missed you terribly!!

The mosaic was gorgeous, but it did take forever to load. The "worst" part was figuring out how to find your posts. ;-)

I'm glad that's all behind you and that you now have enough experience under your belt that you can work with your blog with confidence.

I, too, am curious just how much space Google provides. I guess I'll worry about that when I get the message that I need to buy more space. ;-)

I'm smiling as I read this. It's the exact reason why my blog stays in various color combinations of the same pattern! I tried what you tried and I erased the whole blog and couldn't get it back for a day. So until I get smarter about tech things, mine stays boring, but there! :)

Oh Kim, I'm sorry about all your blogger troubles. Last year it was me who had a mess with blogger.

I'm glad that you got it all figured out with your son's help.
I like the way he teaches. He made sure that you understood and that's an indication of a good teacher.

Sorry I missed your mosaic post, but I love those blooms on today's post. Just so pretty.
Hugs, JB

Oh I am so glad you didn't let it get the best of you...and you won!! I love your flowers how beautiful. Yea for a patient son!!
I also had that message at one time and just deleted some pictures I wasn't using, so that will probably happen again to me soon...now I know who to come to!!
Way to go girl.

Dear Kim,

I love it how your family made you re-learn things and now you feel in control again. But it is NOT worth raising your blood pressure!

I would have reacted the same way. I don't like change, especially when it comes to the computer. It is so intimidating. Thanks for staying with us. Love your beautiful flowers! Hugs! Florence

I'm so glad you survived!Mosaic is pretty, but I don't expect it on a blog. I think you should soak in a nice tub tonight and tell all that stress to take a hike! :)

Good for you Kim. I dare not touch nor change anything on my blog, my boring old format stays...that is until blogger has other ideas!

Your photos are beautiful! I love the white flowers and depth of field it has going on in that shot.

I can totally relate to that scared and upset feeling when it comes to computer changes. I wanted to have my pictures be larger format. Joyce (from: Friday Pretties) told me she did hers by uploading the latest version of the Blogger. So, I decided to go for it. It was that same mosaic blog look for awhile for me. It sure is pretty, but I wasn't sure if anyone else would be able to figure out such a unique format??!!! :) It just looked all confusing. I wasn't able to go back once I started though. It is a continual learning process for me. Usually I figure out more if I make mistakes along the way, unfortunately. I just hope some of the bad mistakes are fixable..:/

Happy Friday!

xoxo...Gloria
