Today On Tuesday

My backyard.
My friend has a delightful post about playing hooky. To tell you the truth when I first saw the title of her blog post I thought it said, Playing Hockey I thought maybe she was getting ready to start that sport. :) I loved all that she said and I thought it would be so much fun. It made me start thinking, " What would I do if I played hooky?"  If you want to see and read all that Janette is going to do, Go visit Janette's Sage.
I did have those thoughts yesterday as I was vacuuming,

If I were playing hooky, my day would begin by getting in the car and driving, to a cabin. With no cell service nor computers.
I would see the cabin and I would have to walk down this path to the door.

There would be leaves on the porch that I might have to sweep off of to get to the door because no one has visited in a long time.

Or it might be this one out all by itself in the woods. Woods are really important to me. I would have my camera and I would bring lots of books and my hiking shoes. A fishing pole is really important too. Oh and a journal to write in about all that I see.

I liked this one too as there doesn't seem to be a road to this and it is in a field of green grass with just the mountains to stare at, I would have to walk up those hills though.

I would have to have a porch though to sit out on and I would hope that there is a rocking chair out there because I think better if I can rock. Staring off into the distance is very important.

I have to admit to liking a lake with  a fire pit close by. I think that would be nice to sit and watch as the sound of night falls on the lake as you hear the sound of quiet and the sound of the water birds on the lake. The cries of the loon as they settle down and as they call to one another and the echo of the calls across the water.

But then I come back to reality and I do enjoy getting away and the peace and quiet but having a garden like this is what I really dream about in real life. I really would miss my garden and would want to get home to see what surprise I had waiting for me.

Dreams are nice, and I have enjoyed letting my mind wander a bit. It is always good to come home to the joy that I find as I walk through my own door, to the sound of the quiet voices, the laughter coming down the stairs, the warm cats curled up in the chairs. The promise of babies who come in the door who treat me as if I am a star. To all of the people here who love me. The sound of the chickens complaining about having to lay a egg.
All of it, has its own special place. It is always good to go for a visit but always the best to come home.

Thanks for stopping by today, and sharing my dreams.
~Kim

I think I'd like to be sitting by the fire...with a stick with marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers of course...listening to the fire popping and tree frogs singing...

I think I could sit a spell on that porch and dream too!
But home sweet home calls! It was fun anyhow!
Love this post!

Lovely idea. Let's go play hooky :) Not hockey. That could hurt.

Your day off sounds wonderful but I like you would welcome the sounds of home when the day was over...or maybe a week...I think I could play hooky a week or maybe two....well I don't know...but it does sound fun to dream about....

Oh you did a great job..this would be another one of my "hooky" days!! And yes, it is so much fun to allow your thoughts to go there some and refresh, then return with a smile on your face to all that is around you! My husband just laughed and smiled from my post, and said, "I so love your writing"...then he joined me and we both laughed about still wanting just each other.
God is good!
Love you posting your "hooky" day!

Hi Kim, Firstly thank you for taking me along with you today-such wonderful cabins and green grass and spring like weather. Now I'm over to Janette's to see where she went today.
Have a great evening.

Oh, you know we have that in common - escaping to a quiet little cabin. My cabin would have a little dock out to the water.

I'd love to sit on that porch with a book - or a crochet hook!

My idea of playing hooky would be to stay in bed until I really wanted to get up. I'm more than ready. Then maybe I'd like to escape to a warmer place. Have a great week. Hugs. JB

My idea would be just to paint with no time limit. I do agree with you...there is really no better place than home, and coming home to our family.

I love the garden picture..beautiful!
