A Lovely Rainy Day

It is a lovely, rainy, stormy morning. I am so happy, that today I have to stay in the house and no chicken house will get cleaned, no weeds chopped. Maybe a fire in the stove. (If it gets colder like it is supposed to later)
When I look outside this is what I hear in my head.

Rain

The rain is raining all around,
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.

Robert Louis Stevenson

One thing about reading poetry over and over it does stick in there sometime.

The Corned Beef will be going into the crock-pot, the day will be nice things I haven't done in awhile, maybe some reading and lots of sewing. Maybe some new designs drawn out on backing. Lots of things and I plan on enjoying what I have the feeling is our last storm.

Have a lovely Saturday,
~Kim~

The promise of a lovely day. My favorite kind often includes rain and a crockpot too! :)

Yes! Corned beef, potatoes and carrots in the crockpot. Our sidewalk is flooded for the first time all winter. Yay!

I'm headed to the market for corned beef. I hope they have a slab of it left. I usually boil mine and add a bottle of beer to the water while it is cooking. Spring break from colleges so I am so happy. One of my boys went to Panama City so my husband and I won't have a minutes peace until he is home next week.

Our rain won't be coming through until later ... hopefully until closer to sunset so I can enjoy this beautiful afternoon.

I forgot to mention in today's post that all those missing posts (including all yours) finally showed up this morning. Hopefully Blogger has resolved its issues ... and yours is behaving properly as well.

Good morning! Oh it is pouring here right now! Isn't it wonderous? (and yes, that porch is STILL leaking...a project for this summer no doubt) I love it. I just put some chili in the crock pot (though I will have to be careful eating it!) and a fire and the rest of book 3 in the Kings series is calling my name....Have a GOOD day! Hugs!

Kim. you are the only one who is always happy when the weather is stormy. I prefer a sunny day anytime but I understand why it makes you happy. Enjoy your Saturday.

It's nice and sunny here and our snow is melting. Happy St Patrick Day. JB

I meant to say, you are the only one I know who is happy when the weather is stormy. I'm always too quick to publish. lol. JB

Sounds so cozy. I'd love to see your new designs. I've been drawing up little patterns too. We're having our corned beef tomorrow. Have a great day!

Hi Kim, Love the flowers. WE are supposed to get rain next week and today my daughter reminded me that rainy season is coming-so not ready. I really want it to stay nice and warm. I'll begin cooking the corned beef later on as hubby as to work at the golf course and we'll be eating around 7:00 p.m.
Have a wonderful weekend!

You have such beautiful flowers on your posts!! I must say...I'm actually hoping for a rainy day...so many things need sprouting! Never thought I'd say that, after the year we had last year, but my garden soil is actually dry!

I love rainy days like this, Kim, where I can do things that I so enjoy and not feel guilty if I am not busy doing what has to be done. ~smile
Hope you are relaxing today as well.
Saturday was so busy for us, we decided to get rid of some of the pollen on the porch and ended up scrubbing the whole downstairs, porch and garage. It seems when we would finish one job, we would go to another. lol Since getting my energy back I can't seem to stop, having said that we are relaxing today as we both woke up tired. lol. I guess we over did it yesterday.
Your flowers are always so pretty!
Love,
Sue

Rainy days are my absolute favorite! Thankfully, bad storms usually dissipate before they get to us. Sadly, so do thunder storms that aren't so dangerous. And I so miss rainy, stormy days that happened nearly every summer day of my childhood. They only lasted 30 minutes but they were glorious!
