Housework

I was doing some vacuuming and thought I would stop and write
a blog post. I am just so shocked the dead or dying bugs. I had the
bug lady spray last week. It has been bug Armageddon. The biggest
amount has been from ear wigs. Gosh they are everywhere.
Remember how my vacuum got plugged up when I was trying to
get the lint out of the dryer? Last night, my husband back vacuumed
it and got out the plug, it seems I had hit a hair clippy and the lint
had made a plug.

I haven't been able to clean the stairs since the hose part was plugged so
today I decided before school I was going to get the stairs. With the handle that
doesn't stay up, I have to brace the vacuum against my hip while using the hand
hose and the earwigs that had died on the stairs was disgusting. Well, halfway
up the stairs, I moved my body away from the vacuum cleaner to get the
area next to the banister. When I moved the vacuum took off down the stairs.
I grabbed it barely before it it the last step and crashed on the tile. I could just
see it shattering like every thing else that gets shattered on the tile.
So I dragged the vacuum back up and continued the job. When again,
I decided to reach up to get a shelf and I moved a bit to reach and boom!!
That vacuum took off down the stairs as quick as you please, I had to jump and grab
it again.

I finally got the stairs finished, I might even be bug free until tomorrow. Next will
be the hatching of the sun spiders. I have some images that may be scary and
not for the squeamish so if you are scared of creepy bugs, I am giving you warning.
They come out at night in my house and go for your toes.

Here is another picture of the thing trying to look innocent.
They are so prehistoric looking.

Creepy things. I have had my break so it is time to get back
to the ear wig problem.
Images are from Google images, I couldn't find mine on my computer.

I hope you are having a nice day,

~Kim~

In case you think she's exaggerating about the sun scorpions, she's not. They really do go for your toes. And ankles, and feet. The cats love to fight them.

So funny about the vacuum having a death wish! I'm glad you saved it from the tile.

To this I say: Hibbity jibbity *shivers*

After seeing those pictures, I'm very glad our biggest problem is earwigs.

Guess what, I was cleaning the bathroom and there by the trash can was my first sun scorpion. I couldn't believe it. So they are here, no toe will be safe. :)

Oh I am cleaning too and stopped for a break to come here and you made me smile...oh those bugs, and they do look horrible.

Oh my! We had something bite our five year old this weekend...it was horrible and we still don't know what it was...poor thing...so I am with you on getting rid of them. So I am cleaning his room from top to bottom in case the attack happened there....it really was a bad bite and scary for this mom.

Well enjoy your cleaning and getting rid of your pest. Keep taking command of that vacuum cleaner.

wow. sun scorpions? do they have stingers? we have the brown scorpions here. smashed a great big huge egg-carrying momma one last night. felt bad, but it was roaming around the living room and i can't chance having the dogs or hubby (since he's allergic) getting stung...

ooh, your pics are scarier than meg's zombies.
my daughter called to tell me of their cricket
infestations. reminds me of pharoah and his
plagues.

i hope your husband will get you a new vacuumm. :)

Kim, I'm so scared for you that you will hurt yourself with that old broken down vacuum cleaner. You could have pulled a muscle. It's time to bite the bullet and get yourself a new vacuum cleaner even if you have sell one of your babies, ... just kidding.

You are so brave to have to deal with those spiders and scorpion. Get a new vacuum even if you have to starve for a week. I'm going to have nightmares about those creepy things.

Got to get back to my scrubbing of walls and ceiling at the milk house.

Have a nice evening. Keep your shoes on. JB

*shudder* you make me nearly glad that the worst things I have to deal with are geckos, messy things and the odd cockroach which sends me running for the bug spray. Spiders that acually go for you?Are they poisonous? Yikes, I wouldnt want any of the spiders around here to actually come after us, we'd always be in hospital or worse.

I'm so glad I live in a place where there is snow enough to not be inviting to those sun scorpions. They look nasty. Are they poisonous? My cats would go crazy chasing them. Maybe they'd go crazy chasing my cats:(

Ok, ewww! I really am glad I don't battle those bugs! You need to seriously reprimand your vacuum! Actually, I hate vacuuming and luckily, hubby volunteers. I'd rather scrape and paint than vacuum any day!

I guess that's one good thing about living in the midwest we don't have to worry about scorpions. Good luck.

Grooooosssss! I hate spiders like some folks hate snakes. We have wolf spiders and they are HUGE; the dogs love to dicker with them but me? I love to squash them flat!
I don't even want to think about a spider going for my toes...RAID!

Ewwww, now I can't ever come visit you!

Oh my goodness! They look scary! We battle with roaches here...nasty! Ok, now that you have the dishwasher, I think a vac with a sturdy handle should be the next major purchase...you could break your neck chasing that thing! :-)

Goodness! Gross! We have earwigs outside but thankfully they've never figured out how to get in.

A couple more trips down the stairs and maybe you will have to get a new vacuum? ;)

Blessings, Debbie
