Did you ever hear the story of the man who got the
award for being humble? He put it on and they took it
away. :) That is me. I love awards but they go to my head.
The reason I am sharing this one is it fits, it is
the Versatile blogger award. I am supposed to be writing
a blog about life on our farm and it turns out most the time
to be the ramblings rattling around in my brain.
It is starting to get bad too, last night when the babies
were sleeping and they would make sounds and I was wide
awake with each one and I would wait to see if they were going
to wake up all of the way, my brain would take off in blog
posts. I am so glad I didn't write them down, but they were
there all clamoring for a day in the sun.
I want to thank from the bottom of my heart my very new friend. She
has a lovely blog and I feel so honored to even be considered by her,
She is Patrice at http://www.everydayruralty.com/ She makes me
laugh when I am tired and she makes me think when I am feeling
serious. Not to mention, I think, really, she even might be a real writer.
Not like me who is just a competent forger,( Searching for Bobbie Fisher.)
So here are the rules:
To accept the Versatile Blogger Award the rules are:
- Thank and link back to who gave you the award.
- Share 7 things about yourself.
- Pass it along to 15 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy
- Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award.
- I wanted to be a Jockey and my life long dream was to ride in the Kentucky Derby.
- I am only five feet tall.
- I have wrote daily since I was 11 years old.
- I have never ran away from home.
- I never do anything by halves, my sister said once, " Why must you always be pushing the envelope".
- I love books more than clothes
- I like to cook, but I think really, eating is a big waste of my time. I wish never had to eat.
- I would like to give this award to Dog Trot Farm. This is one of the first blogs I ever came across and she inspired me to do what I do now.
- I want to give this award to Little Bit of Life. She is very versatile in her posts too. Not to mention she is married to my son. :)
- One of my newest favorite blogs is Verde Farm. They have the best collection of animals and I love the stories about their life on the farm.
- I am giving this next award to my son, he started his blog to help me write better. My kids were born writers with a innate ability to be able to spell and understand grammar. I of course did not. Williams Cool Writing School.
- Am I biased by putting my kids on for award? Yes, I didn't notice anything in the rules but since I love reading what my kids write I am putting this one up for an award too. Carrolls All Year.
- Because one of the things I wanted to be was a 10 minute rug hooker, I ran across Cotton Eyed Jo looks at life. She had become a really good friend not to mention she can really make beautiful rugs.
- One of my blogs I follow and enjoy is called One Animal Away From Divorce. She has some really great things to say, not to mention a really cute chicken house.
- One of the blogs that took my heart was My Letters To Emily. I love Lea's heart and she writes all of the time about things dear to my heart, even when she gets caught in the rain.
- No list would be complete with out Millie's Mats. I want to give this award to Kim just because she is a great 10 minute rug hooker and she makes me laugh.
- The first comment I received from someone that was not my family, was Sue at Pear Tree Farmhouse. I was going to quit blogging because I found I had nothing else to say. She gave me encouragement I needed and when I blog now, I am blogging for Sue. Not to mention she is just a dear.
- One of the ladies that I love to watch what she makes is Moon Pie Primitives. Nancy does lovely work and I wish I could apprentice to her. I would love to be a needle worker like her someday.
- My favorite quilter in the whole world in Jacque at The Doodles of My Mind. She has become such a dear friend of mine and she does write all sorts of great things too.
- Another one of my team members from the 10 minute rug hookers is my lovely friend Julia. She has one of my favorite blogs and she raises cows which seem to be a weakness of mine. Not to mention she does really great rugs. Her blog is called Of Petals and Wool.
- I wanted to give an award to Janette at Janette's Sage. We have both home schooled and have given birth to 6 children. We need to stick together.
- I would like to give this award to Joyce at I love Pretty things. She is always giving and I thought it would be nice to give something today.
I could just add everyone that is on my sidebar. All of them have a special place in my heart.
I hope you have a lovely Friday today.
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Congrats on your award! You are a wonderful blogger and it's fun to learn seven new things about you! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks Kim for the Award but I barely have enough time to check the few blogs that I follow who manage to post on a given day. I'm sure it would be a great way to add to my followers though but I think that I'm already over burden with so much to do already. I don't mind telling 7 things about me though.
1. I'm Sagittarian
2. Honesty is so very important to me
3. I'm a two finger typist
4. I don't always know what I'm going to blog about until I sit at the
computer and start typing and I let it flow then edit.
5. I'm a breast cancer survivor
6. I'm no longer afraid to be myself
7. I'm a hard worker who don't shove dirt under the carpet
I wish you great results with your Blogger Award thingie... JB

Lord for nudging me to ever do this.
blessings, sweet chicken lover!
Congratulations Kim on this award, You are so deserving, I so enjoyed reading those seven things about you. How cool that you wanted to be a jockey and ride in the Kentucky Derby.
I truly am humbled of what you said and that you thought about me, I might be classified with the man who had his award taken away. lol I became award free a little over a year, because it became such a hassle to try and choose people to give it to, as I see you do too. Most of my friends here in blogland have too and for the same reason. I apologize for not having a tag on my side bar, please forgive me.
I have not been a good blogger lately, it seems I simply can't catch up on my work. I have missed visiting regularly, but I am planning to take some time this week end and try and catchup. I never told you this but should have, the first time I came to visit you, I stayed and read all of your previous post. I felt like such a sneak. lol I discovered our homes were so similar, and that we had a lot in common, but the thing that drew me back was your love for God and family.
I am so glad that you kept blogging, I think of you so often during the day.
I forgot to tell you the last time I came, that I like your profile picture.
Thank you for sharing all that you do.
Much love,
Sue
I love that I'm next to comment after Sue. First, because if she was the one who kept you blogging at the exact moment you were ready to abandon it, well, I owe her a world of thanks.
In all honesty, I think I discovered your blog in a link from Jacque's, but as an old woman, my memory is often suspect. Anyway, I wondered here on a day when my spirits were very low. Everything I read, helped my heart to feel lighter, and before long a smile was on my face.
I too like others have had to adopt an award free blog. If it didn't matter to me that I KNOW the pass it along part won't get taken care of, would just smile, say thanks, and hey even take a bow! But it would nag at my conscience.
Still 7 things to share seem easy enough
1. I'm a libra
2. We have 2 cats now, and the most we've had ever was 5, 9 if you count the 4 our neighbor of the time had. :) The cats all got along together dandy...even occasionally coming in to eat at either house.
3. My classroom had one of the original tulip gardens for Journey North which is my favorite internet project for kids. Especially the Mystery Class activity.
4. Hmmm, this is harder than I thought. I just learned recently that I've shrunk 2 inches in my years. Now 5'5.5 funny that it is triple nickles....
5. I could lose half my weight and still have plenty left for me. :(
6. I love coming to Kim's porch and having a visit, especially when she tells about her family.
7. My favorite flavor is marshmallow...which is a clue to my weight!
Forgot to add, I'd love to have Kim's email, but don't want to post mine here. Spambots crawl around the web, so if she would leave it in a comment, I won't publish it, but will have it. Thanks! Jo
Thank you so much....well this mother of six has a four year old with a broken leg, so life is a little busy right now...it will be interesting. Thanks so much for putting me in such awesome company, I am truly honored!!
Kim, thank you, thank you, thank you. You are just so sweet and honestly, have been such a great blog buddy to me since I started. You have given me confidence to do this with your comments and sharing. I am thrilled you would think of us and I can't wait to check out the other blogs you have nominated either :) Thank you Kim!
Amy
