We finally had frost this morning. A week until Thanksgiving and we just had our first frost. It is nice to be able to go out and breathe the crisp cold air. I have been sewing and I hope soon to have some things to show you. I have been hooking too.
I have dyed some wool and I have some really nice colors. I need to dye some more because I need some Christmas colors but my son told me that when I dye wool the house smells like it has a stomach ache. I laughed and now that it is cold I can't open the house. I really did think about getting our old BBQ out and using the burner outside so the house doesn't smell.
I have made blogger jump through hoops tonight and so far no error. Maybe it is fixed now.
I hope you have had a good start to your week.

Using the burner outside is a great idea! Or, maybe just have the kitchen window open when no one's looking! lol! Those little pumpkins are cute. Save the stems and dry them for next year. They always look great when you stitch a pumpkin and attach a real stem to it!
You need a summer kitchen set up in your garage. You could do all the dying outside and the house wouldn't smell. It is another one of my dreams ( next to have chickens) to have an oven outside in the garage to can in the summer. My house heats up so quickly when I can. I bet that was your Will that said that!!!! LOL
Once again, your son has me laughing! I don't think I'd like that smell either, if his description is accurate! :) I agree with moosecraft... opening some windows when no one's looking is a good idea!
have a great day!
Hello Kim, so pleased you have blogger sorted and we can see what you've been up to!
Not being able to open up the windows is one thing about winter that bothers me as it's so damp here and I love hanging the washing out on the line! Yes there is happiness in even the most mundane of household chores!
Blessings
Christine
You have been very busy this week. I pulled a few hoops but now I have to make a decision as to what to tackle next on my rug.
Your son has a great description of the smell of wool cooking.
My husband came in one day when I was dyeing wool on the stove. He lift the cover and asked as usual "What's for Dinner?" "Wool" was my answer. Now he knows when that funny smell is stewing that we're having wool for dinner. Hahaha.
Hugs,
JB
I can imagine what cooked wool smells like! I am not ready for fall to leave..it seems like it just got here!
Crazy- you get frost and we had seventy degrees yesterday. It's very cold and rainy this morning though. I'm not sure how a house smells like a stomach ache, but it's an interesting thought. Hope you're having a good week. Come over to the Porch when you get a chance. Hugs-
dyeing on the barbecue in the crisp air. :)
we have had a couple of frosts already. today was hovering at a freeze. a bit of skim on the water and hard frost everywhere.
Oh good, I'm glad Blogger's working. It had cut off everything before your Friday post, so I think Blogger had some serious errors behind the scenes. No idea why.
It's supposed to warm up as this next storm comes in, so maybe you can just open the house up when you use your dye. :-)
So glad that Blogger is cooperating with you now. Can't wait to see what you've been up to with needle and thread. ;-)
I say, make the boys go outside and just keep dying in the kitchen! ;) Isn't this weather wonderful? It was so much fun getting all bundled up for the game on Friday, and last night we put the electric blanket on the bed! :D
Your son cracks me up. Just sneak the windows open when no one is home. Nice fresh air, and they will never know.
