Fall Fog

One of the things I let slip my mind about living in the Central Valley of California is the fog. How did I forget that, I have no idea but I did. This morning before the sun came up it was rising in the field across the street. In the central valley, it becomes our nemesis. California might be having beautiful, warm sunny weather but when the fog comes, and if we get enough rain, it might be months before we see the sun. You can drive to the coast or to the mountains and you can get away from it and it will be warm and pleasant. Not us though, we will sometimes just freeze because it is damp and cold. After this hot summer though, I have missed the damp and cold I know I won't be singing that tune when it really sets in day after day. I forgot November brings the fog.

This morning, the sunrise was beautiful. My husband took these shots. I wish he used the camera more because I always enjoy his pictures.

It is amazing how fast it rises when you are trying to take a picture of the sun coming up.

I love how the fog  gives my photos a inner glow and even a drop of dew becomes a work of art. I forget how the light changes and becomes so warm and I feel so much better and I can breathe again.

Have a lovely Saturday. I am trying to get my picture taking mojo back. Just like anything if you don't use it you loose it.

Thanks for stopping by today,
~Kim~

Fog. I like that poem by Carl Sandburg.
You'll get your picture taking mood back. You will.
I'm feeling so lazy today. I MIGHT, I repeat MIGHT, turn on the Wii and do a little Zumba to get my heart pumping!

Sorry, but I still think of fog at your house as containing zombies just beyond the sight line. I was always waiting for the herd of brain eaters to come creeping across the grass...

the sun rise is pretty thru the fog. the dampness would get to me, though.

I guess that you forgot about the fog because you have a lot on your mind.
Great photos of the sun raising over the mountains.
We get fog in the morning but the sun usually burns through the fog and it gets sunny. I hate driving in thick fog though.
I hope that you get your photo Mojo back. I only wish that I had more spare time to go on photo taking spree but any spare time I get I spend it on the computer. It's a great stealer of time.
Have restful weekend.
Hugs,

JB

Awesome pictures! Cold and damp sound very familiar although today was bright and crisp - I even managed to dry clothes on the washing line outside! That's always a bonus this time of year!
God bless
Christine

We see a lot of fog in the spring and a little in the fall. I don't mind it in the morning, but a night it is difficult to see when you are driving. Lovely photos!

We get some fog here too, but not very much. It always burns off too. My sister lives in the mountains though and the fog settles on the road getting up and down and you are just stuck. It can be really scary... Your pics are soo pretty. Hope you are enjoying your week-end!

Great pictures.
Love the way the sun looks through the fog.

We rarely get fog here, but when we do, it can be as thick as pea soup!

Have a wonderful day.

I love fog! One of my favorite things about it is that we live so close to the beach that I can hear the foghorns if there are any big ships coming into the harbor. It's one of my most favorite sounds in the world. I'm not sure I'd like it as much if we had it like you do in November though.

That tule fog -- my neck stiffens up at the memory of trying to drive a few miles in it. So chilling to the bone, those densely grey valley winters of my childhood...
