Chats on The Farmhouse Porch

It is time again to visit with Patrice. She sounds like she has been very busy, so I wanted to say thank you for thinking up these questions week to week.

 QUESTIONS

 1.   Do you like to have a variety of handbags, or are you happy with one old favorite?

It is funny how I have changed over the years, I had a new purse every season. Then I went through the diaper bag years, and now I just hate to have to carry one and leave it whenever I can. I like my chicken purse because my grand children like it. I don't think I would carry one anymore.
 2.   Do prefer to have your hair long or short?

I cut my hair off in August. I was so tired of it so I just went in and had it hacked. I miss the days of big hair. I love big hair and now I just let it be though I did curl it today. It wasn't a million degrees and it was nice to fool with it again.

3.    Are you doing any crafts for fall?

I am always doing something. I have lots of things on the burner right now. Lots of things that I need to finish up.

4.    What's your favorite sweetener to use?

Honey. It is the only kind I can use now. All sweeteners even sugar cause my heart to skip beats. Or have a panic attack.

5.    Tell me something interesting.

I am thinking of taking a blogging break. It has been a hard few months and I think I need to step back and look reevaluate  my whole life.  Just some things I have been thinking about. I feel like that someone keeps moving the finish line and I need to find my center again.  Just thinking though. I am praying about it.

Thank you Patrice for this weeks questions I can't believe this is the 63rd week.

You should post a picture of your haircut...would like to see you with short hair. I can understand you taking a break, but I sure would miss you!! :-)

Oh Kim how alike we are...I wish I could do away with my purse too. I just keep putting things in it until it soo heavy it is like a suit case...sigh, haha. I cut my hair off and I am happy with it, but I too LOVE big hair. And sugar can definitely have that affect on my too. So can caffeine. I know people need breaks from this, but I would REALLY miss you! Praying you make the right decision for you. HUGS

i think a blogging break might be a good thing for you. we'll be here whenever you feel it is the right time to be back. i will miss your posts, though, but you need to look after your peace of mind, your health and your soul. besides, think of all the completed crafts you'll be able to show us afterwards. ;)

Oh how I miss the big hair days as well. Found a pic of me from 1980's and put it on Facebook last week and everybody got a great laugh. I weighed about 90 pounds and I think 20 pounds of it was hair. We will miss you if you take a break, but we have to go where God leads us.

Boy Kim, would I miss you! I'm thinking maybe you should post just once a week to give yourself some free time. I know how you feel. I really enjoy blogging, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Dear Kim, you need to make some time for yourself as soon as you feel that blogging begins to feel like a burden rather than a pleasure.
We've all been there and it's nice to take a break for as long as needed.

You can always come back whenever you feel like it and as often or as little as you like without pressure.
We'll all miss you of course .

I've even deactivated my Facebook account because it felt like I needed to. Too many people in my face I think and it started to get to me. It feels freeing. Some people love to live on facebook but it's not for me.

I hope that you'll go easy on yourself, you already have a lot on your plate right now.

I'll keep you in my prayers. Hugs, JB

I'm sorry you've been feeling stressed. I really enjoy your blog, but like the others said...we'll be here whenever you come back, if you decide to take a break! You need to do what's best for YOU! :)

I completely understand about taking a blogging break. I think most of us have to do that occasionally to re-group!!! HOPE you have a great rest of the week!!!

A break would make me sad.

You found the words I was thinking lately- "like someone keeps moving the finish line". I'm there! I cannot believe how I just keep getting further behind. I still enjoy blogging and I'm not in for a break with it right now, but I can understand you wanting to take the time. Like everyone else,I will still be here when you return if you need a break. I think praying on it is a great way to approach it. I wish we could sit on a porch and visit for real!Life has been so busy and the calendar is flipping pages at an alarming rate. I can't believe it's October already. Have a good week, and know that I'm thinking of you. :)

I feel the same way. Just burned out on life. Too much uncertainty, too much limbo.

I was very interested in your answer to #4 as I have an irregular heartbeat and AFIB.

purses...I have them because hubby buys them, but I am horrible about changing them out.

Blog break..well lady you hold the record for blog post..couldn't keep up with you...now I am trying to do two, but each will only have a post or two a week...I am stopping right now and praying for you...I know when I stepped back to ponder this summer God filled me up, and I am so glad He did, because this season would be rough if I had not obeyed and listened....and it isn't over yet!!

I still can't believe you hacked off all your hair. That was such a shock when I walked in.

Oh well, we all need a break every now and then and you sure do post a heck of a lot. It's good for the brain to disconnect.

I think it's always beneficial to step back and take a breather when you feel overwhelmed. It's also very good that you recognized the need to do so "before the levy broke"... (hugs). I tend to think it usually is information overload that is causing so much stress on folks these days. Portable phones, texting, facebook, twitter, pinterest, tv and radio.... it's enough to make me jittery just typing those words! lol! And, of all of those... I blog and listen to radio with minimal tv time. The remainder of free time is with needle and thread (ahhhhh...therapy!).... I wish you peace and health! :-)

I can certainly understand your thinking about a blog break. I will certainly miss if you do, but I will certainly be waiting when you return. {{hug}}

I hope your break from blogging for prayer and reflection will give you a sense of renewal and refreshing. It's good to take a little break sometimes. God bless.
