Moday Morning in August

On Monday morning sometimes, I think I could
start this post " Mary, Mary quite contrary
how does your garden grow?" It is all growing
very nicely but sunflowers and zinnias don't rhyme.

My row of zinnias is a wonderful sight each morning.
The butterfly's and the bees are so happy. It is funny
this year because I must not have planted the right
kind of sunflowers because I don't have parrots now.
Or maybe they are eating somewhere else.

This is kind of a good picture, I caught my shadow
in the picture. Like Peter Pan, I must have sewed it
on nice and tight that day.

So begins my week of deep cleaning my house. I have
to get it all done so that I can keep my attention on school
and not have to worry about dirty blinds, and dirty windows,
and all the silly things I think I need to clean.
I learned a long time ago that I am a clean freak. If my house
is not clean, I cannot function. So, if I am going to teach
school and keep my mind on my task, I can't be
thinking about whether or not I have dirt on my fan
blades.
Remember the show Monk? Well, I loved that show because
he was nuttier than me...sometimes. I don't carry wipes when
I shake your hand. But I do touch fence posts when I am walking.
Only to count laps mind you.

Have a great start to August!

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

(Psalm. 107:6)

I think you'll have plenty of parrots and lovebirds once your sunflowers are ripe. I checked my pictures from last year, and on July 22nd of last year, you had lovebirds. So they must come along in the late summer. Around here in the early morning I hear them flying patrol, so the patrols probably just haven't noticed your sunflowers yet. All the more for the bees!

You crack me up! I always admired that your house is so clean, but I never knew you were such a clean freak haha! I go crazy in a dirty house too, but my kids haven't figured that out yet. Or they like driving mommy crazy, I'm not sure.

I just love your flowers. They're even better in person. Have a great Monday! :D

NR~I am glad you had a date for them. I wondered what time of year they visited. I am glad for the bees though.
Meg~It is so funny that you think my house is clean all of the time. :) I hope you both have great Mondays too. I am finished with the outside and now I am on the inside. My worst part of cleaning is the blinds.

Meg: I've recently had great success in (cheerfully) asking the munchkins to pick up their toys from all over the house. They're only too happy to oblige as long as I don't snarl at them. This has become our pre-bedtime ritual.

Mum: I even got my floors mopped! Today is some kind of record!

N.R. I am so glad, you know that saying, you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. Even today, it works better with you all if I ask nicely, and not snarl. :)
I think the best think to remember about parenting is respect. Would you talk to your best friend like they were a dog? Nope, then as a parent we should never, ever treat or talk to our children unless it is with respect and kindness.
Handing out gratuitous advice. Just finished the living room side of the house. Front part tomorrow. I even got floors mopped too. It must have been a floor mopping day. :)

So glad you stopped by my blog...I will be posting pickled peaches tomorrow...My mother & grandmother always made them (I was born & raised in Texas) Now that I live in Minnesota there isn't any place to buy them, so have to make my own (much better anyway).Be sure to take a peek. I use to be a clean freak but have learned through the years other things are more important like playing hide & seek with your great grandchildren and hear them squell with laughter when you find them. That dust will always be there for me, but the little moments will not...God Bless you and yours
