Winter Rugs

Not today, just after the pasture was plowed.

Yep, finally a winter. It is so foggy this morning I can't even see lights. Pea soup is what the the weatherman said.
I am so glad to have a winter. Rain is nice too. We had such a nice surprise rain storm on Saturday night-Sunday morning. That is why we are having pea soup fog now. It feels so nice to have what I consider normal weather. I like weather can you tell? I read weather pages like some people read the stock market pages.

Anyway, this post is about my latest rugs. It is so much easier to hook when it is cold.

This is my own design. It was a fun rug to do again. Meg has the original. I wanted to get a rug a month done this year so this is my first. I will do the binding today or tomorrow. I am in the process of cleaning out cupboards and closets. I cleaned three yesterday. I don't want to break the mojo that I have going on.
Today is is my small pantry and then start my way upstairs. I sat down on January first and wrote out a whole list of things I wanted to get done this month and it feels so nice to be checking them off.

I thought I would show you how we spend our evenings. Ron's things are by his chair with the things he works on and the book is on the table and then my chair with my hooking stand that Ron made and also my basket with my current stitchery projects I have going on. With the fire burning in the fireplace, it is my favorite place to be right now. I am really loving the January.

I hope you have a lovely Tuesday. Full of lots and lots of good things. Thank you so much for stopping by to read my ramblings. No brain cells were harmed while writing this post. :)

Else's fault this is my opportunity to fit myself, to give a little. To do a small thing that should have been done by the others. Love is patient, very kind, never rude, never selfish. It is amazing what rest comes from the gentle fitting of self to its sphere."

Aw! I love seeing where you and Ron sit! Yes! Yay for fires in the fireplace and cozy evenings.
I like that quote, too. Don't we come upon SO many things that someone left undone and that we can quietly do? I love that!
I'm so glad you are having your winter. I absolutely adore your Feed My Sheep rug! Well done!

I love your new rug and the bible verse is fitting. You dis a great job on that rug. I love the looks of it. Wow, you're ambitious, one rug a month,..... even in hot summer weather?... I'm just jealous...

Your hooking area is so tidy. How wonderful that Ron and you sit together as you each work on your hobbies. You are really a blessed couple.

I'm so glad that you are having some enjoyment from cooler temperature. I find it amusing that you like fog....

Have a great day.
Hugs,
JB

Your evening chairs look quite cozy and well suited for the tasks before you. The quote is really good although, I must admit, probably with a bit of petulance, I dislike doing someone else's job when they're being paid for doing it. That happens more and more frequently or so it seems.
The work of your hands and heart is lovely, Kim...very nice!

Aw, the living room looks so cozy! Perfect for dark, foggy evenings. Out here, it rained and was cloudy all morning, then in the afternoon it cleared up and got gorgeous. We're supposed to have our usual mid-January warm-up next week, and I'm kind of looking forward to it. Today was so raw, my feet never really got warm.

I like winter for the same reason; I can get things done that I can't when the weather is pretty outside. I love this rug. Are you going to put it in your easy shop? Let me know if you do....Hugs.

Your rug is adorable and that evening spot is so cozy! I know you enjoy time spent there with your love. We never made it out of the 30s today. Which is fine except that I don't have the right clothes for that. LOL Enjoying the cold here and not looking forward to spring or summer.

Oh I LOVE the rug! Soo cute. And I really enjoyed seeing your "little area" . It's perfect and cozy. Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed the rain storm this week-end too. Got more rain then I thought we would. But today we hit 78! It was honestly just gorgeous. I would love some more cooler temps though. Hope the rest of your week is good!

Thank you for showing us where you guys spend your evenings. It is a lovely area. I really have to remember to do lists. My sister said it will make my life so much easier. I'm always running this way and that and accomplishing very little. Oh Kim, you would love our New England weather. It changes so fast.
