Ten Things That Make Me Happy

Today is a cold and dreary day. Yay!! The wind chill makes it a day I am so thankful for a nice warm house.
I had to go out to take care of my girls ( hens) and while out there, I found myself finding things that made me happy and made me smile. I thought I would share them with you, just in case it s a dreary and cold day for you.

.
1.Camellias blooming in the flowerbed

2. Warm fresh eggs in my pocket.

3. Finished projects.

4. Nettle and chickweed growing all around.
5. New projects to work on.

6. Wishes to come true.
7. Surprise sunflower coming up through  old leaves.

8. Oranges for snacks.
9.Finding my silk tulips in the shed and putting them in blue jars to chase away the clouds.
10. buds and the promise of spring.
This morning, I found out that looking for things to make me happy, were all around me. I took lots more pictures of things but I will save them for another day. I was so surprised to see that the world is filled with such small pieces of joy in such little things.

Have a lovely weekend,
~Kim~

Such green grass after the years of brown. It is such a miracle to me.
" St. Julian of Norwich: All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manners of things shall be well."

I think we are thinking the same things this morning, friend! I love that orange. Can I have it?
The eggs are absolutely beautiful, too!
Yay for a grateful heart! I love that quote! All manners of things shall be well!

Funny that chickweeds makes you happy and they are the bane of my gardens. I can't keep up with them in the summer. Can I send them your way. I'd love to make you happier.... hahaha...

Seriously, I'm in the same frame of mind as you. I'm totally happy just to be alive and let the things that were supposed to be done, unfinished. What will it matter when I'm gone?
I'm trying to live in the moment as much as I can. Not always as easy as it sounds sometimes when there's a major irritant.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
JB

Thank you for reminding me that beauty is all around if only I will look. It's so easy to get busy and forget the moment and the beauty that is ours for the taking....Loving that rug, the eggs I know will be delicious. You are a blessing....

Look how green it is! That blows my mind!

I discovered that the orange tree down by the office is a blood orange tree. I've been trying to figure out how to get some, as they're about five feet higher than I can reach.

I can agree heartily with your list and joy in even the commonest of things. All apart from nettles??? Many a rash from them as I roamed our farm!
Have a blessed weekend

You know, that was a great idea. I think I should try that every day while there are too many people living in my house. :)

Being blessed does bring much joy.

I was telling a man in the supermarket about your oranges today. It makes me happy to know someone that grows them.

I love your thoughts, Kim. Isn't it the truth, when we start focusing on all that is GOOD around us, it drives the bad right away. Sometimes when I'm grumbling (mostly internally :) ) about my back that aches, or other minor health issues, I start thanking God for all in my body that works. My eyes can see! My ears can hear! My legs can still get me where I want to go! There is so much to be grateful for. Thanks for all your reminders here. I love coming by for a visit, it's always so uplifting. :)

What a nice list. The oranges look like the expensive and beautiful fruit at Whole Foods. I can only imagine walking out my door and plucking it off the tree! Lucky Duck!

Hi Kim, that green grass looks so refreshing. I remember a trip to Southern CA one year in January and I didn't want to return to the cold, brown, dreary, Midwest. Your pink tulips in the blue jars are such a great idea.

P.S. that sheep rug is darling. Wonder what your new design is... will have to check back.

All good things!
I love the silk tulips in the blue jars.. so cheery!
Did you see that the new color for jars this year will be amethyst? I can hardly wait. I think they are due out in June sometime. I've been collecting them, since they brought back their heritage colors. I hope that amber in the next color.

Enjoy all the little things.... each and every one a blessing
