Weird Weather

I hope you have had a good week, we are almost to Wednesday. I do think that washing windows is like doing a rain dance in other places. I thought to myself last week, " You are pretty safe, I think you could wash windows this week, we never have dust storms in June." I was wrong. We are having one right now.
This one is good though, because it is going to blow the hot air away and bring in cooler marine air. Which makes it just perfect.

I was taking pictures and down on the ground was a grass hopper I think. I took its picture. I wanted you to see the little heart on its back.

Isn't that just adorable? I thought it was amazing as I looked at it. I kept waiting for it to hop, but it didn't. I think it liked having its picture taken.

I really have to get out of this slump. Working all day makes my blog pretty boring. I do have a wonderful secret. My oldest daughter and her family will be home in three weeks!! All I have done is planned and thought of food to cook and things to do. I wonder if I can talk the married ones who live here to just move in and camp out too. Wouldn't that be fun? We could turn the back yard into camp sites. Except for the skunks, and the heat. All eight of the munchkins will be here. It will be bliss.

Well time to go out and see how these guys have taken the heat today, and put the chickens to bed.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday.

Current song going through my head---" When I'm sixty-four." By the Beatles.

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

That would actually be really fun, depending on how hot it is. I wonder if Ben would go for it...

Hoping you get the cooler air, soon.
It will be nice for you all to be together. Sounds like good fun, good food, and good memories to be made.

It's going to be so much fun for you when they are all around. I know how much you've missed her and the kiddies

Three weeks will be here before you know it! I'll bet you're so excited you can hardly stand it! ;-)

I didn't know that grasshoppers were brown ... I thought they were green. I just learned something new today.

It will be so nice having the family over for a visit, you won't even mind the heat. A dust storm doesn't sound very good because it gets into everything but at least it will bring the cooler air.

we are so lucky to live beside the St John River where we get a cool breeze coming from the river but on day when there's no breeze, it's humid.

I find insects are really pretty in an ugly kind of a way but some of them have gorgeous colors. This little guy isn't pretty but he's got heart. lol.

It's so nice seeing your garden grow by leaps and bound.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
JB

I never think of the dust storms that occur where you are. What a shame that you had already washed your windows!

Such exciting times are ahead when you have all the family there for a visit. I would be planning ahead just as you are.

Well, I've surpassed that "when I'm 64" stage by a decade! Is there anything written for someone in my age group?:-)

Your posts are not boring! Oh yes, I remember that Beatles' song, and never ever imagined the day would come when I would be that age - it will happen this summer. Oh my!

Enjoy your family time!

LOVE the heart you found!

And a heart backed grasshopper! What a lovely color he/she is!! I'm so excited for you to have your family coming home... have loads of fun! Summers are just too darn short...around here anyway!!
Hugs!!

We're having t-storms and lots of rain; it's lush and green here. Hoping to cut, put up hay this month. I do know what you mean about work...that's about all I do anymore.

it's the day to day stuff kim, that i love reading. the stories of a farm girl from ca. i don't want BIG stuff, i can get that anywhere. i get from you, exactly what i need, what i want!!

it's the little things we record that really matter!!
