When Life Gives You Lemons...

Today is Thursday, I want to be truly Thankful. I woke up in a happy mood. Then I read the weather report. I don't think I am going to read it anymore. Next week, this weekend, as far as the little radar things can tell, 97 to 101 even into October. Which is next week. My eyebrows are a little pointed. I am seriously considering going on vacation. There was snow on the Rockies yesterday. Okay enough whining.
Things I am thankful for today.

1. I have air conditioning.

2. I don't have to wash clothes on a scrub board.

3. We have grocery stores, because how dismal my garden was this year, we would starve.

4. Last night we had a little snake trying to get in the front door. It had worked it's way under the weatherstripping. My son saw it when he got home from work. My husband caught it and took it out to the pasture. I am so thankful I didn't have to catch it when I am here alone and I am very thankful it didn't make it into the house and take up residence.

5. I have lots of lovely people whom God has brought into my life. I am very, very blessed.

I really feel that my friend Sonja has the best post for how I feel today. Here is her blog.
Bits and Pieces

Then my other friend Dawn at Just One Life.Is going to enter and run a long distance race for 24 hours. Both of these posts speak volumes to me today.

I hope your Thursday is just fantastic!

I love how you share your thoughts, so pure and honest!! we have 5 days of rain coming. I'm happy, I have cleaning, organizing and fall decorating to do. we are always out and about when the sun is out. I am looking forward to some inside fun!!!

Plan some inside craft projects, for those never ending hot temperatures!!!

Hi Kim:
Yep, that little exchange between God and us got my attention too. It's all the little things that fill our lives and hearts, that God is in the middle of and directing. I so often let my own feelings get in the way and if I don't SEE Him at work, I can so easily forget that He is busy working it out and cares about every detail. Some days that is crystal clear to me, other days... I need to be reminded. I sure am glad od is patient with me! :)

i so wish cooler temps for you soon. we've been in mid-90s, but there's a chance of rain for this weekend. we are extremely dry and need it badly.

Praying you'll get some cooler temperatures *soon*. Thanks for the reminder that no matter what our circumstances, there is always something we can be thankful for!

Running for 24 hours? I can't even imagine that. I'd be dead after two, I think. Also, boo on more hot weather! But didn't the almanac say it'd be hot until the end of October?

Last night we listened to Charles Stanley's When Faith Wavers. We're trying to live in courageous faith today with no doubting.

Such a happy list. I laughed at the snake. I think I would have moved out. I think I hate snakes worse than spiders - and that's bad!

Ugh. I don't even want to think about the weather anymore! I like your list, I'm thankful for no washboards too! :)

I wish it would cool off for you. It has been really nice here for the last couple of weeks. I need to write a thankful list too.

Hi Kim, oh poor you with that week day weather report, yuk, come up here and visit me but..... bring a warm coat. Great thank-ful list, we must always be happy with the things we have, lemons are not. Blessings Francine.

I can't imagine living in constant heat. I can't even stand the heat here in the summer and it never gets as hot at you get it there.
I don't have air conditioner except in the car. I think I would just die of a stroke or something.

You have a great attitude and a thankful list is the right thing to do.

I've been digging daylilies in a sleeveless shirt but it was just right for working outdoors. I've worked all afternoon and only dug up and divided 4 large clumps and separated the lilies and I only made a dent in the job.

Can't blame the snake for wanting to cool off in the house with air conditioner. Seriously, I think I would have screamed if it happened here.

Hope you get some cooler weather soon.

Hugs sweet friend.

Oh phew! 101? That's tough I really hope the weatherman is wrong.
So glad the snake was thrown out. Have you ever had one take up residence? I'd be so scared.
God bless

I shall no longer complain that it hit 80 degrees today. Perhaps I got out the sweaters and boots a bit early. ;P I'm glad you didn't have to deal with the snake. My family kids and hubby found a bunch of baby copperheads when they went to harvest potatoes. Would you believe a black snake struck at our employee? Fortunately, he only got his boot. I thought they were supposed to be docile. I think they didn't read that part. I've been the world's worst letter writer lately, but know that I care. Big hug for a Thursday!Thankful lists are so helpful. They can work wonders on my perspective. :) I'm thankful for you!

You know you have the perfect perspective, at least we DO have air conditioners, and we DO have grocery stores...we also would seriously starve to this winter with as badly as our garden did and I could be doing laundry on a washboard....yes we are truely blessed
Have a nice weekend Kim

What is going on with California's hot weather. It's hard for me to imagine how the kids can stand to be in school. Your town must have air conditioning in their schools. We don't have any in ours and just those last days in June and the first couple of hot day in the beginning of September wipe out the whole school. I bet your school room is nice and cool!!!

Well, I shall try and be thankful for our weather - our *very* cool weather! And our rain. And our winds! It's very, very difficult for me to hear of 97 degrees and not think.... Ahhh, bliss!
Just shows you what perspective can do!

You were on my mind today..something similar to what you have experienced, an issue I prayed for for you, happened to me...I kept thinking...now where is Kim so I can talk to her!

Love your post...it made me smile...now to go read Sonja...God always speaks to me through her

Have an awesome weekend and if we get any cooler weather I will blow it your way! You can keep your snake!

I can't believe y'all are still having such high temps. I hate it too. We're at least in the mid to upper 80s, which is better than the 90s and 100s but still---it's NOT FALL WEATHER. I've been whining too. And trying to be grateful-without much success. Cannot believe a snake tried to get in your house. If that happened here I would die from a heart attack! I hate those things. I still owe you an email about that other thing---will try to get to that tomorrow! Hugs!

I spent my Thursday on the tractor and slept like a ROCK that night! As have I ever night since then; physical labor is killing me but the farm is looking pretty good.
