Finally Finished

Over a year ago I started doing these once a month Word Plays from Brenda Gervais and Country Stitches.

Today I finished the last one and it was September. I have been working on the Word Plays now for a year so today when I  put in the last stitch I felt like I had really accomplished something.

I have learned so much working on these each month and pushing myself to finish them before a new pattern came out. Now that I am finished I couldn't wait to show you all of them together.

There were months that I just couldn't stay true to the colors because I still don't know how to do counted cross stitch over linen. My eyes just can't see it. Then for April I just had to put a cross in the design because I wanted to have something to do with the Resurrection. I have about 12 skiens of white that I didn't use because I never used the right color for the pattern that Brenda recommended. Other than that I enjoyed doing this and find I miss it so much because I looked forward to what Brenda came up with month to month. Now I can get caught up on the other patterns that I put aside.
Here is a close up of the bunch of them.

So all finished now. Time to move on to other things, like rug hooking and making signs. I have a pile of wood cut waiting for it to be something. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

I LOVE them! I can see why you would feel so accomplished...because it IS quite an accomplishment. How do you plan on displaying them? A special spot for one depending on the month kind of like a calender? I want to see one in it's spot, haha. Anyway girl, good job!

I think it's wonderful that you were able to stick with the project for an entire year also!
Do you hang them on a hutch?

Thanks for sharing !!

Enjoy your day!

Those are simply gorgeous! I used to be able to do counted cross stitch on linen ... in fact, linen was just about the only thing I stitched on. I even did a couple of pieces over 22 ct. hardanger - 1 over 1 ... back when I was wearing bifocal contacts and still had to wear a pair of reading glasses to further magnify it so I could see. I need to get back into counted cross stitch ... it would be an easy hobby to take with on our trips.

You are far more talented than me. If there is no picture to follow, I am out of luck.
