Nice Weekend

Today was a really nice day. Gum Gum as I am called
now by my youngest grandson and Pacqua as they call
my husband, got to babysit while their Mommy and Daddy,
finished up Christmas shopping.

They played in the leaves and and buried themselves and
threw them and then would rake them back up. And do it
all over again.

They played in the newly plowed soil with Pacqua, and
used little shovels. They played in the fort and went down
the slide. They got pushed on the swing-set to go way up
in the sky, and pretended they were "boids."

We made forts and they even got gum gum (me) to draw
them chalk pictures. I drew a house and my grandson tried to
open the door and said, " Oh, it is only a chalk picture, I can't
really go in."

What is different about this age is that with my own children, I was
so busy doing my work, I didn't stop and play. It makes me sad, even
though I was told over and over and I did think it would last forever.

So now, I stop, I don't do my work. There is always tomorrow.
It was a great day and how I wished I could have let them open
every package under the tree. They played with the Nativity and
they undecorated the tree. I am glad that Christmas is
next week because I think, if it was further away, they might
have got to open a few presents. I think this growing older thing
sometimes is pretty fun.

I hope you have a great Monday!

They look like they are having so much fun in those leaves. And you sound like you had just as much fun with them!
Grandparents were invented to spoil kids and play instead of work!

What fun to be a Grammy! I think parents are always too busy working on keeping the house and job going that they don't stop to play. I think that grand-parenting lets us do just that!!
Hugs!

Oh what a sweet post to remind us of the importance of stopping to enjoy the children and what God has done and His creation!
Love the names the kids have for you!
Best wishes

This is such a precious post..I love your name and I so look forward to these days for myself. I learned that lesson after number 4 and my house and lack of things accomplished show that on number 5 and especially number 6. When Ben says "look mom"...I look. Oh to have the wisdom of being older mixed with the energy of youth...wouldn't that be great?

I think that is why grand kids are such a gift from God we get to walk in our wisdom. You sure are and those children are so blessed to have you. What a blessing to have them close...what a blessing to have them...oh my the list could go on for a mile...so many people do have what you have...enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas to your whole family

They have been talking about "having fun" at Gama's and Pacqua's house since yesterday and how they did little shovels and that they will come back next week to open presents. ;) And Ty is still asleep right now!

That is the wonderful thing about grandkids. It's your chance at a do over. I bet they were tired little kids, you probably were too. That was a lot of fun goin on.

So glad you had fun with your g'boys. This is the 1st photo I've seen of your precious ones. Sure are cuties!
Isn't making memories so much fun?
I have to admit I'm stumped on the 'boids'. Is it birds?
Yes, I too wish I had taken more time to play. But my children never complain, so I'll take their word for it that we did OK.
Happy Holidays!

Life is so busy with your own kids, but grandchildren sound like fun. I hope everyone in your house is full of Christmas spirit. I can't believe it's less than a week away!

I'm so glad that you got to spend some quality time playing with your grandkids. I used to get them to help me make cookies and that was so much fun.

I did it for years and my oldest is 18, but now because of working full time and my youngest is miles away I only see them when they come for a visit.

Have a Blessed week. Hugs, JB
