Here is my work that I have done so far this week. Well just the canning part.

The one funny thing I have noticed is that you can tell how hot it is going to be by looking at the morning glories. See how they are closing up. This was early like before 7:00 A.M. When it is going to be over 100 the flowers close really early. In the fall when they bloom, and it is cooler, they will stay open all day. Just one of those funny things I have noticed.
Today I have little boys coming over to swim with Grandma. I get to hang out with their Mom too. I can't think of a nicer way to spend a day. I love this summer. It has just been the best. So many good things happen every day.
Have a lovely day,
~Kim~

hope you'll have some shade and some good sunscreen. :)
Nice job with the canning!!!
I've never made dill pickles. I can remember my mom making crocks of sweet pickles.
Don't you just LOVE the colored canning jars??!!!
I have some blue ones from last year, and some green ones from this year. I hear the next ones that they make will be the amber ones. Guess we'll have to wait and see***sigh*.
You will have fun today with your family, heat or no heat.
It is interesting to observe how nature deals with the heat.
Seems that everything sort-a shuts down when it gets blistering hot.
Stay cool.... enjoy swimming **smile**.

I think a late night swim should be in order on those hot days. My mother and stepfather had a place in Las Vegas with a pool....there was no swimming during the day, sun too hot, So late night swims were on the agenda, it felt like HEAVEN!!!
Canning looks great, I sure do like those green jars. Please us up my jars too, I have plenty. LOL
Hi Kim!
I like the green jars, too! Look at all the pretty pickles! Yay!
No pool for us today. It's not any where near as hot as in your neck of the woods. Drink lots of water!
Sounds like a great day ~ well, minus the heat! Enjoy!
Your canning looks wonderful. It will be so appreciated this winter.
Have fun with the grandsons!
i don't eat pickles, but i love ball canning jars. i use them for everything except canning ;)
i found a really cool, big, green decorative one in hershey. i have yet to deciede what i am going to do with it!!!!
Look at your beautiful pickles! I love seeing the jars fill up. This time of year mine are almost all empty...I'd better get busy! I bought some of those pretty green jars just last week. Have fun swimming...what a great way to spend the afternoon!
I wish I could come join you all in the pool. ha! Enjoy your time swimming with your grands!
Your pickles look wonderfully, Kim, I made pickles in the Ball green jars, and they do look great! We are very hot too, and the humidity is really high. 108 seems way to hot, stay cool! a night time swim sounds wonderful!
I am so busy with gardening, and having family home it is wonderful!
Enjoy your family today too!
hugs,
Sue
Kim I was wondering are your dill pickles crispy? Anytime I have had canned dill pickles they were soft...we only like crunchy ones....if yours are crispy/crunchy would share the recipe... We were going to be invaded with cucumbers this year..... Love those jars where did you did them?
Thank you for sharing a wonderul blog...
Blessings
Rhonda
Wow Kim, you made a lot of pickles and they look so lovely. You are amazing pickling in that heat. You are very observant with nature.
I'd love to go for a swim when it's hot. As long as you have some umbrellas to shade yourself you should be OK.
Love those beautiful Morning Glories.
Hugs,
JB
I bet you had a wonderful day with the g'boys and your daughter.
Those pickles will taste e specially good this winter!
I just love how you find something in each day to appreciate and be thankful for, Kim !

It's going to be really hot out here this weekend, because our monsoon pattern is letting up for a few days. The other night we had a huge dust storm, thunder, lightning, and rain. It was great.
