Just Odds and Ends

We went down yesterday for the final fitting of Emilie's Wedding dress.  She looked so pretty standing
there. That dress is really very pretty. She was designing her shoes last night. Did you know you can do that now? I didn't but I think it is a good idea. So last night Nik and Emilie designed the shoes they are going to wear to the wedding.

Yep you read that right. They are wearing matching Converse. You know those shoes that basket players
used to wear. She has tried on so many beautiful shoes with her wedding dress. She decided that since the wedding is in the front yard and it is grass, it would be better to wear tennis shoes. Nik is wearing Converse and so are the groomsmen so when they found they could design them they did that together. So while it is way different than when I got married, I am so happy they are having fun. I still remember how numb my feet were by the time I left the reception from my wedding so I am all for comfortable shoes.

It amazes me how this time around how much more calm I am. Maybe that it is just one wedding. One at a time is a piece of cake. I am sure there will be times that I am in panic mode but for now it is okay.

That is all I have for today. Just some odds and ends.
We have some lovely storms coming in we need some good storms. We need some more rain.

Have a great Wednesday,
~Kim~

Good morning! Glad the final fitting went well. When we did Mel's it just wasn't fitting right. We had to keep taking it in a little at a time, and the bodice still wasn't laying as flat as she wanted...finally we got it there but kind of nerve racking. Soo glad you are feeling calm, and can just enjoy it all. LOVE the shoe idea! Melody wore fancy decorated cowgirl boots with hers as she was marrying a cowboy of course, haha. I love some of the things they do these day. Oh, and I am all about comfort when it comes to my feet! Enjoy your day! HUGS

That sounds fun and practical...the shoes. Oh it is calm around here also...mainly because daughter is doing it all...my work comes the weekend of the wedding, doing the flowers, the decor and taking it all down.

Have fun...sounds like you are!

I'm glad that you are calm about the wedding. After all it's the vows that matters the most.
I think that it great that she chose to wear tennis shoes. I seen a pretty bride with a beautiful white gown in running shoes dancing and having such fun at her reception.

Kids are more liberated than we were.
I can
t wait to see some wedding pictures.
Hugs,
JB

Converse under the wedding dress! What will they think of next? That's so sweet. I'm glad it's a lot lower stress for you--but compared to last time, yeah, I can imagine!

My daughter bought a pair of regular white canvas tennis shoes and glued on all kinds of embellishments and exchanged the laces for something lacy. So pretty! And comfortable!

Planning a wedding is so different these days! I would have to design pretty flips flops for myself, with lots of bling!
