Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

It is time again to chat with Patrice on her porch. I always enjoy spending a bit of time with Patrice. I hope you enjoy this week's questions.

Everyday Ruralty

1.    What's your favorite fruit?

That is really hard as I love all fruit. But what I eat every day is a banana, so I will go with that.

2.    Wendell would like to know if you've ever been horseback riding.

Yes, I spent a good part of my life on a horse. It was only about 4 years ago that I put down my horse and well, it was such a horrible experience I will never have another horse again.

3.    Do you carry a small purse, a big one, or just a wallet?

I am using a backpack right now. I started using it at Christmas and I just haven't changed back.

4.    If you could travel to one state for a day (all expense paid), where would you go? If you're not in the US, where would you like to travel within your country?

I think I would stay here in California right now. It really is beautiful right now as it turns green. The foothills just have this light shade of green and this time of year I love living here. I might like to go visit Death Valley or go to a place called Red Rock Canyon. I have always wanted to hike in the deserts in February/March.
Not to mention I like going to Disneyland this time of year. I love Disneyland.

5.    What was your first car?

My first car was a truck. I love trucks and still do. I guess that is why my car is still technically a truck. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

~Kim~

I have always thought KY was our most beautiful state and I stand by that. I would love to be able to spend time with my sis in WV as it is 2 1/2 years since I have seen her.

Oh my...I'd have trouble deciding which state to visit. There are so many places I'd love to see someday! Probably one of the Pacific Northwest states would be my first choice.

Sorry about your horse. I'm not going to ask about the story because I'm sure it would be too upsetting for you to tell and me to hear. I love nearly all fruit too. Right now, oranges are my fave. And apples. And bananas. And...never mind. Now you know why I answered the way I did. LOL

It would be hard to lose your horse- so sorry.
I would like to visit the sites you named too.
But only Disneyland with g'children. I'm not that much of a kid at heart!

I enjoyed reading your answers.
I guess you'd only want to leave California when it gets round to the soaring temps of August!
Come visit Ireland!

Hi Kim, You crack me up with your answers of preferring a truck to a car and a backpack instead of a purse. You are just like my daughter Jackie... When I asked her why she like driving her dad's big truck she said that it made her feel more powerful on the road as if she kind of owned the road. Lol... I refuse to drive the truck and it's a standard. lol...

I'm sorry that I haven't been leaving comments lately, I've been feeling blue for most of February and I've been working a lot in the office and also decluttering my house. I haven't spent much time on the computer but I've kept reading my favorite blogs on google reader and only left a few comments on people who needed a bit of uplifting, meaning to leave some comments later but I just didn't felt up to it.

Today I walked to the mailbox and the sun was shining and it felt warmer than yesterday and when I opened up the mailbox, well... it got a whole lot warmer when I saw an envelope from Bakersfield California.

Thank you so much for the Valentine. You are unbelievably sweet to take the time to make me such a sweet valentine. I'll cherish it. I felt the warmth of your mailed-in hug too and it brought a big smile on my face. It came in at just the right time too.

Take care and tanks again.
Hugs,
JB

Beautiful flower photos! I have carried a backpack as a purse before. It is quite handy actually. Good choice.
