I couldn't believe today is Thursday. My husband has been home sick with the flu and I can say he hasn't been this sick in at least five years or more. I am not a good nurse, but I was so scared that while not good, I was better than normal. Today he dragged, his coughing self to work because there was a project that had to be done.
We had a lovely, maybe our last storm for the winter this week. The one that is now causing so much havoc as it travels it's way east.
I took some pictures yesterday of the snow on the mountains.

The snow is down to the foothills. |

You can see the refinery in this picture but beyond that is Bear Mountain. |

I love how pretty and clean everything is and how low the snow is and how the sun just lights the mountains all up so you can see the contour of everything. You can always feel it here in the valley because as my Mom used to say, " When there is snow on the mountains you have to wear a coat." If I had went to the end of the street that is in this picture, I would be able to see all of the way to Mt. Whitney.
The cold is keeping the trees asleep for a little bit longer. I am so glad. Last year we had all of our fruit trees blooming by the first of February. I am so glad that we will have a normal spring this year.
I feel like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. I am so far behind. I hope you have had a nice week.
Thanks for stopping by,
~Kim~

pretty scenes! really sorry the hubby has been SO sick, though!
I'm sorry your hubby has been sick...hope he's soon better! I'm glad it's Thursday...'cause I received a fun filled box from California today! Thanks Kim! You can be sure I will be planting those sunflower seeds as soon as I can, too. Sunflowers are some of my absolute favorite flowers!
I hope hubby feels better. The flu thats been going around here has knocked people out for days and days.
Oh I'm so glad you posted those pictures. I didn't go anywhere yesterday and you know we can't see the mountains from our house, so it is nice to see those pretty pictures. I had no idea the snow came down so low.
Did you ever get sick? I hope you avoided it and it was just your mind playing tricks on you.
I am glad that spring is not coming too soon this year, but I am itching to plant! Haha. Plus my poor transplants are starting to get too big and need to go in the ground soon... I think. I'm so new to this I don't know. But I have been thinking about building little greenhouses to go over our beds. :)
I'm glad Dad was slightly better today. I hope he doesn't relapse, though! Maybe if he just sits all day. Here's hoping nobody else gets sick!
Thanks for those mountain pictures. We can't see them from here--just their very tops--and it's so refreshing to see all their shapes.
Loving the photos from your home towards the mountains.
Enjoy the cold snap and button up your coat!
I hope that your husband is on the mend. My so got that same type of flu and it's has been a real bad one and he's still coughing and feeling tired and all worn-out.
The snow in the mountain looks very picturesque but I don't want any more snow. It's still snowing lightly here today and everything looks gloomy.
Take care,
Hugs.

That snow on the mountains is just beautiful. Sorry the hubs is sick- hope he feels better soon and you don't catch it!
Oh those mountains are so beautiful and to think you can look out and see them.....I pray your hubby is well soon and you stay away from him so you won't get it...hahah
The storm photos are awesome. I do hope your husband feels better soon!
I love the pictures of the snow! Hopefully your husband is on the road to recovery! xo Nellie
the pictures are so pretty kim, what a view!! good news that the hubs is feeling better, sometimes, they are not the best patients!!
y'all just keep all that snow; I don't want any! we're expecting 1 to 2 inches of ice tonight/tomorrow; I'd rather have snow -smile-.
Mine's sick too. We would have snow on the mountains if we had mountains, but I'm afraid we're plum out of mountains! Hope he's better soon. BTW- kindly send the weather the other direction. :)
The hills are so pretty!
What a bummer that your hubby has had the bad bug. I hope he feels better soon!
I love the pictures of the snow on the mountains. The storm that visited you has passed through our area, leaving us at least 4" of snow with about a tenth of an inch of ice on top. It was a good day to stay inside and quilt. ;-)
Hope your hubby is better soon (and that he hasn't shared with you).
I feel so badly for your husband. I figured it was going to be bad. The flu this year is brutal, I hope he doesn't have a relapse from going to work and over doing it. We are expected to get between 10-16 inches of snow this weekend from the storm that barreling through all the states. Gorgeous photos of the mountains. You live in such a beautiful area.
