"The Inventor of Modern Air Conditioning.
Genius can strike anywhere. For Willis Carrier, it was a foggy Pittsburgh train platform in 1902. Carrier stared
through the mist and realized that he could dry air by passing it through water
to create fog." Isn't that just a wonderful thought. Anyway of all of the wonderful inventors there have been, that man changed the world. I think of that every time I come in the house from outside into this nice cool house.
Don't you love Morning Glories? They are just such happy flowers. Are you having a nice summer?
What have you been doing? You know the only thing I wish I was doing was sitting in a tree reading a book like I did when I was a kid. I am sure though, that if the kids came over and saw me in a tree, they might think I flipped, because I am afraid of heights. But still I think of it every now and then.
I have these really cool flowers I planted a few years ago out in the pasture. They are these double kind of flowers they look really neat. I tried transplanting them into my flowerbeds in the yard but they didn't make it. So now I let these pretty volunteers just grow out there by themselves.
I made my first batch of zucchini bread today. Its a gluten free version I found online. I tasted it and thought it was terrible. I made real pretty Cinnamon rolls today for the Bible Study in the morning and I had leftover cream cheese frosting that I always put on my Cinnamon rolls and Ron said it was good. (I can't stand zucchini bread at all, ever, even if I was on a desert island starving.) In fact, that one taste made me sick at my stomach. So I had to spend the day reading a book. That part was nice.
Nothing deep going on here today. I wanted to check in this week. By this time in July, summer is full on summer. I always feel like its just put my head down and hanging on for the ride. Thankfully, the weather man has been wrong this summer more than half the time. We haven't had the hot weather he predicts every morning. I decided to stop watching him and move on and ignore the weather. Its hot. We don't get rain until December. It doesn't cool off until Halloween. So there is the weather report for us. No reason to sit and watch the weather and hope that it will cool off. It won't. I have been scrubbing the tile in the pool. That is a good thing about hot weather.
I hope he makes you laugh. I still love Minions. Have a lovely rest of the week.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
~Kim~

Nice to see you posting! I love those flowers. It's been thundering and raining here every afternoon, so it's been kind of exciting and staying below 100. No complaints here!
you are funny kim, i don't like zucchini bread either, even if it has all the "bad" stuff in it. i can't imagine how it would taste without gluten. and i would not eat it if i were stranded on a desert island either. who thought of that...that a vegetable and bread would taste good together!!!
your morning glories are always the prettiest!!
I think those flowers are so pretty! Too bad they don't like transplanting! Your morning glories are pretty too...although here, they like to grow in fields and choke out the crops! That's probably a different variety. I never saw pink ones before, and I like them! Send all your zucchini bread east...I'll eat it for you! :)
we have been brutally hot but have cooled of wonderfully. We are headed out in kayaks to blueberry pick today because I have the day off from work.

I'd like to sit in a tree and read, too. As it is I am sitting in bed because I got a bad cold from Jame's and his fam.
Our guest leaves this morning. He has LOVED the hot weather because it is so cold in Australia.
Speaking of crazy grannies . . . yesterday at the Justice store we were poking around and I found a mermaid purse that I thought was so cute and I thought, "When I was younger I would buy whimsical things and think I was being daring but now I fear people thinking I've lost my mind." The fear is real. LOL!
Take care, sweet friend.
I love the double flowers. Isn't it funny how some flowers just like to grow in certain places better than others? I'm not listening to the weather man anymore either. He's mostly wrong. So we'll just take what we get. Like you said, "It is summer!" I'm thankful for being able to click on the A/C when it's so hot! Great invention! Hugs!
I, too, love morning glories and the Minions. They just crack me up!
I can never keep from laughing when I see Minions!
So, you used to sit in a tree and read as a child, but now you are afraid of heights? What changed?
Keep calm and stay cool! XO
Hi, Kim! I didn't sit in a tree and read....I sat underneath it in the shade; never have been a fan of heights and didn't attempt to climb any trees - ever! So thankful for the a/c these days; had to have our 14-yr.old unit replaced just a month ago. Stay cool; love your visits on Instagram!...xoxo
Ah climbing trees...the good old days. Love your pretty flowers, they are very cheerful.
Always such a joy to read your posts, Kim, and like you, I am so thankful for Mr Carrier's idea, and like you when I come in from the outside heat I am very thankful, and have wondered how folks made it without AC. ~Smile~
I also like to let flowers bloom where they are the happiest, when out weeding I just let them grow right where they are, and they seem to do so well, especially the sunflower seeds around the bird feeders.
Would you believe I have never tasted zucchini bread?
Thank you for visiting me and for your sweet comment.
My summer has been so busy, with work and lots of family visits.
Blessings,
Sue
I never thought about climbing a tree to read a book but I don't see why not. As long as the branch is wide enough and sturdy and not too high off the ground, lol. I can picture a nice breeze . I think I'd like to sit under the shade of a big tree better. I'm getting old and the firm ground is more appealing to me. lol. As a child I used to hang upside down on a branch and just dangle there for the longest time.
I love morning Glories but every time I planted them, the earwigs ate them. I should have planted them this year because the flood seems to have banish them along with the red Japanese Lilly beetles.
I'm glad it's not as hot as last year and that your mulch is keeping the moisture in the ground and the weeds away. My mulch all floated away and I've had nothing but weeds and misery. It's the year of the dog from the Chinese Astrology and it's not meant to be an easy year for me.
Stay cool and happy.
Hugs, Julia
