Here is my rug. It took me almost two weeks to get it bound. Its a big rug. I didn't work on it when I first got sick. I am still having a hard time shaking it. Gosh, I hate getting sick now. I loose all of my momentum.
I am working on a turkey rug. I sat out yesterday in the late afternoon. The sun was shining through the trees. The light was golden and warm. I noticed that we have a new bird singing in the trees in the back. I couldn't place the the bird song. The wind was dancing through the tree tops and the sky was all so blue. Now that November is here, the clouds will come flying by rigged as sailing ships in full sail. The fogs of November will return. The ghost smells of burning leaves and the sounds of children laughing as they jump into leaf piles. Now it is too cold for little bare feet and shoes must be worn with coats. All of the sweet memories of fall came to me as I sat and hooked my rug watching the golden light as the sun faded from the sky. Have you noticed how fast the sun sets now?
I hope that this first day of November finds you well and the leaves still have some color. I hope the air is filled with the smells of fall.
Blessings from my heart to yours,
~Kim~

One of my favorite poems of autumn.
I am so happy today because it's November! The wind is blowing and it isn't too warm. It was a very mild Halloween! Nobody needed a coat!
I have had a long quiet morning and it's time to make my hair behave and putz to the grocery store. It's nice to visit with you first! Love love love you, good girl!
I read this post out loud to Marcy and she liked it very much! :) She thinks you write beautifully and I agree. It is not cold here or cool. It's humid and on the way too warm for November side of things. That is supposed to change by Friday and I'm hoping the weather dudes are getting it right. This time. :)
I was able to work in my garden today...70 in Michigan and Nov. 1st. I love your beautiful posts and I am so glad to know you like Poldark. I thought I had read everything too, how could I miss something this good. I have seen it from the first and I think I enjoy it more than Downton. Maybe it's the tri cornered hat or the beautiful horse or maybe just Ross. (ha ha). Enjoy every minute of fall, your rug is lovely.
a nice poem for autumn!! pretty images and the rug is beautiful!!!
So wonderful that you can still sit out and hear the birds singing, Kim.
Our whole month of Oct was pretty much rainy and gloomy. Now our first day of Nov. is the same!
Very happy that November is here.
Your finished rug is wonderful!
It does take longer to bounce back after being sick as we put a few more birthdays behind us, doesn't it?! That's ok.. we also gain more wisdom!!
Glad you liked Poldark, I should have suggested it sooner :) I need to get the soundtrack one of these days.
I tried to stay up on Sun. and watch a new episode, but I couldn't stay up....as it comes on later here:)
Did you stay up and watch it?

Happy November. Yes, the time is flying by.
I love your rug!
Hope you are feeling better.
Hugs :)

How special that you heard a new bird song! I heard a bird down by the creek... it was in the trees above my head but I never could see it, to find out who was making that call that was not familiar to me. The finches are gone, and the orioles... even though we don't live in a particularly cold area, I guess they want to get warmer anyway - they must need the fruit or the bugs they can get more of farther south. I will look forward to their return!
That is a very sweet rug.
How very beautiful your Hooked Rug is !
You can't tell from the photo, but how big is this lovely rug ?
Love the November poem at the end.

So glad to catch up with your blog! This is the first time I've been able to just sit and mess around with the Internet. I'm very thankful for cooler weather finally, too.
Sweet November verse! It has been mild here but change is in the air and the leaves are falling fast!
I absolutely love your latest rug, Kim! So, so gorgeous! Well done on another great finish!
Kim, I hope you have fully recovered, flu and cold season has hit early in these parts too...Your latest rug is so lovely, wonderful job...our weather has turned cold, winter feels close...sleet today...ugh! Thinking of you...
It got to 68 here today. You could probably still go barefooted. I am not complaining. That is one of my favorite poems.
Love you rug. Today is the first day that has felt like fall, and of course the time change also makes it feel like fall. I don't particularly like the time change. I think I will bake pumpkin bread today. Enjoy your week.
