I am having such a hard time getting my motor started today. After so many days, weeks and months of going at full tilt, having a day where the house is quiet, well except for the sound of the washer and dryer. Then there the men out front working to put all of our utilities underground, preparing for the wider road out front. I have a orange cone in the middle of my driveway. Does that mean I couldn't leave or no one can pull in? I wondered as I stared at it. It is a parade of hard hats and orange vests outside the fence.
When we went to Arizona, I really meant to take more pictures than I did. Finally today Kessie took pictures for me and sent me a couple. I thought I would share them with you.
This one is Sophie, five weeks.
Kessie said she learned to smile. Such a sweet face with lovely kissable cheeks.
This is her big sister. I laughed to hear, that big sister wants baby sister to come play with her. To this day, I remember the disappointment I felt when my Mom showed up with my baby brother who was too little to play with or even talk to or play all of these games I was thinking of before he came home.
We have lovely rain in the forecast for the rest of the week and in to the weekend. I feel like my life is filled with so many gifts.
I hope you have a lovely week. This first week of January. I guess since it is a new year, a new month, I should mix it up and try a new schedule.

"I think that is a better thing than thanksgiving: thanks-living. How is this to be done? By a general cheerfulness of manner, by an obedience to the command of Him by whose mercy we live, by a perpetual, constant delighting of ourselves in the Lord, and by a submission of our desires to His will."

I love that quote! I shall put it into my Rule of Life.
I'm so glad you like the weather you are having. Did you go beyond the orange cone today?
Sending love your way!
Beautiful granddaughters you have, Kim, My mom says I didn't care to much for my baby sister when she came home, but that soon changed!~smile~
You certainly needed a slower pace to start the New Year, enjoy, as I know you will soon get real busy!
So glad you are getting the much needed rain, we have had way to much, and the winter has finally arrived after one of the warmest December on record!
Happy New Year, Kim,
hugs from me to you!.
Sue
What lovely cheeks to kiss. She looks well fed and big sister will soom be able to play with her.
I remember the day I got an email from my daughter Christine when James started playing with Daniel. He got very annoyed at his dad when he picked up Daniel.
James said "Put him down daddy, we're playing" It was a very precious moment for mom and dad.
Winter is for slowing down and not rushing. I'm trying to do just that.
I hope your wedding plans are coming along well. It's getting very cold outside now. I'm glad we don't have a wedding to prepare for.
All the best./
Hugs,
JB

But, we are buried in white stuff at this point, with more on the way, so I can only dream of it for the next few months. Wishing you a new year filled with joys and blessings. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Thanksliving - yes! That shouldn't be a hard word, and attitude, to remember. But to DO... we will try!
I love your black chicken at the top, and your grandbaby - those cheeks are too pinchable!
