Mrs Rabbit At Home

I hope your week is off to a good start. My Monday lets say was jam packed. So much so that when I woke up this morning I thought it was Saturday. Or it was just wishful thinking.
Flu has hit the house with a vengeance. Wisdom teeth having to be extracted, I guess this is the year of the pulled tooth. I am fast approaching a permanent fixture at the dentist office. Yesterday at the dentist, it was like ole home week.
Seeing people I haven't seen in years and years. The dentist's wife, came and asked, " Did I know all of their customers?" I said, No I didn't think so but, I reminded her I have known her 27 years. We both laughed. I guess I need to get out more.

This weekend, I decided I was finally going to finish Mrs Rabbit and hang her where I first imagined her hanging when I first saw the pattern.  As my eyes were getting worse and worse, she was the only thing I could see. The colors are darker than I like, but I thought I would just leave her like she is. She helped me keep my sanity as I hooked and hooked and thinking all the time, it might be my last hand work anything I would ever finish.  Today when I hung her on the wall. It really felt like she finally made it home.

Rug design by Sharon Smith.
I often wonder when I look at Mrs. Rabbit, how it was that I did see but working with my hands gives me peace when I am in the mist of panic. I think sewing or handwork, is such a gift and one that I am so thankful for, hooking rugs is to me, something I have not even got tired of since that first day I pulled my first loop.

I hope your Tuesday is a wonderful day. Thank you so much for stopping by to read this drivel I post. I spend so much time on the computer, one thing I found out yesterday, talking with my fingers isn't like talking in person. Just talk about that pretty tree across the parking lot and the new green leaves that are glinting in the sun, or the rain drops looking like diamonds and see how people shake their heads very politely and move off. :) Thank you for listening to me very much.

at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

Mrs. Rabbit is beautifully done! I am glad that you had her to keep you company, in your days of fear about your eyes. Such a blessing now to have your eyesight restored!! I think you should keep her.

You guys have certainly been at the dentist office often this year. Hoping your son is doing ok today, and that his mouth will heal up fast and well!!

I love reading your posts! I love how thankful you are for the little blessing in your life :)

Have a happy day!!

The kids got up today, asking, "Is today Saturday?" So it's not just you. Does somebody else have the flu now?

Good morning! It does seem like everyone is sick! I can't wait until we are through this season. And speaking of living at your dentists office I am off there again this afternoon. I am getting just a little bit tired of that place, lol. But thank goodness they can still fix me up. I LOVE LOVE your Mrs. Rabbit rug. She's darling. I love visiting here and seeing what your up to and what you have to say! But I know what you mean...I am amazed any one at all is the slightest bit interested in my drivel. lol Enjoy your week Kim, and praying your all well soon!

Kim, I'm so sorry about the flu at your house and wish you all a speedy recovery.

Good luck with the removal of your wisdom teeth.
My granddaughter is scheduled to get her wisdom teeth out at the cost of $1875.00. can. and extra $ for examinations, consultation and x-ray are extra...
Isn't that ridiculous how expensive it is here? How can they justify an hour's work for that much money.

So glad you have Mrs Rabbit all done and ready to hang as a reminder of how you saw before your eye surgery.
She's beautiful like all your works.

Hugs,
JB

I love Mrs. Rabbit. I know exactly what you mean about how hooking is for you ... just what quilting is for me. ;-) I'm so sorry to hear that the flu has hit your house. I can't even imagine ... this "crud" has really knocked me for a loop ... the flu would have to be so much worse. Hope you all heal up soon.

I love the rabbit! Our Jenny has been Pinterest shopping for a big bunny. She likes the Flemish rabbits that are HUGE. Of course, she is NOT getting a bunny pet, but we've been sharing the funny images. I like your rabbit's outfit. So bright. I especially like the kerchief.

Mrs. Rabbit is really pretty. The colors are perfect!
I too find working on projects de stresses me. There is a chemical our body releases to our brain that gives people pleasure when working on repetitive crafts scientist have found out recently.
