Rain
The rain is raining all around,
It rains on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.
When Ben and Megan were moving, I went over one day and she had this shawl sitting there.
She was just going to take it to Good Will because she just didn't have room to take it. I felt like someone had shot me through with an arrow. I told her I would take it. This pattern she designed herself after that picture of the butterfly, that I took pictures of one spring day that was coming out of its pupae. Isn't it pretty? So now I have a shawl. I love it.
I was able to work only one day on my Rabbit rug. I love this rug, and it pains me so much that I haven't been home long enough to work on it.
I have such scrumptious color for the back grounds. I can hardly wait to start that part. I found out something that shocked me about myself last week. I was looking in my rug cupboard for a Easter rug I had made. I started pulling rugs out, and I had five rugs I had not bound! Isn't that terrible? So instead of getting to hook, every minute I sit down, I pick up a rug and start binding. I had no idea I had done that, and not to mention, I have some rugs, I have no idea when I hooked them. I cannot remember one of them at all. It kind of scares me and makes me wonder where on earth my mind was last year, at least I hope these rugs are from last year.
Have I shown you my second quilt block? If I have I am sorry. I have enjoyed getting to make quilt blocks again.
Our Camellias are going crazy this year. I don't remember ever this bush going this crazy with blooms. Just think, I was going to take it out too. I guess it didn't want to be taken out.
I love cloudy days. Its too wet to work outside so I will sew to my hearts content today. I do have that itchy feeling of needing to be working outside but it is just too wet. I hope you have a wonderful Saint Patrick's day today.
Thank you so much for stopping by,
~Kim~

Hi Kim, Megan's shawl is beautiful. Amazing that it was inspired by a picture of a butterfly that you photographed.
My daughter Nicole used to recite The Cremation of Sam McGee by heart and she would put so much expression into it that we just loved to listen to her reciting it.
Your bunny looks very good, such lovely colors and you got a lot done for only one day. You must have hooked all day.
Your flowering trees and Camellias are so beautiful. I'm glad that you're getting a lot of rain. I hope that you get sufficient rain this year.
Today the weather is colder and the sun is peeking in and out. I can't wait for all that snow to be gone and the soil to come alive again.
Happy St Patrick Day.
Take care my friend. Hugs, Julia

This was a most lovely blog post today! I love the poems and your memories with your children; that shawl is just beautiful...and made by one you cherish; your bunny rug is going to be a darling piece; and thank you for the Irish blessing,
I'm glad it's wet so you have to stay inside! You'll get plenty of work time outside very soon. I love the shawl you inherited. Wow!
Enjoy your weekend!
Mrs. Bunny is beeeeyooooootiful!
Your family is so talented! I like your rabbit rug, and the shawl is gorgeous! She made that?! I'm impressed. How is it going with them being on the road?
Those are beautiful pink blossoms! What tree are they growing on, or what fruit will they become? ;-)
Your rabbit is darling!! I think it would be a nice thing to find those rugs in the closet, items you know just what to do with! You could pretend that someone else hooked the mystery one and gave it to you to finish. Hey, maybe that's what happened!
But a similar thing happens to me, with my creative fruits. I can spend hours, even days, on writing a blog post and then if I don't look at it again for a year or two, when I go back, I many times can't believe that I wrote it, it all seems so new!
that. shawl. is. GORGEOUS.
i am so happy you were there to save it...as her inspiration, you should have. the rabbit rug is coming along nicely, beautiful pics today kim...
i hope your children remember those special moments with your husband!!! love to you kim, have a wonderful sunday!!!
So happy you rescued Megan's shawl. Beautiful.
Your rabbit rug is coming along even though you haven't had much time to work on it. Hopefully this week you will find more time.
Hugs :)

WOW! I am so glad you made room for that beautiful shawl. That's one of my problems...I'm always making room for lovely, hand made things. They remind me to the maker and I tuck them in prayer.
What a lovely shawl !
Your rabbit and the colors you used and wonderful. Eager to see the shades you will use for your background. Isn’t it fun to find projects from long ago, tucked away ?

I love your quilt block. I’m on my 3rd of the mystery garden quilt series from Farmhouse Threads. It’s really fun.
Your rabbit rug looks great, it looks very neatly done.
