Whirlwind Week

I hope your week has been a nice week. Ours has been filled with lots of busy and lots of laughter.
Yesterday was our grandson's birthday. He turned eight. We had everyone here. Everyone was so sweet to come over and put up with my ideas. I had new family pictures taken. I can't wait to see them.

I never take enough pictures. I did manage to get a couple.

Here are some of the kids roasting hotdogs, with Grandpa, as Munchie calls him, Grandpa Kim. It cracks me up every time.

There was lots of scooter riding, running and laughing and lots of eating. There was tree climbing and at one point, Ron and I were sitting by ourselves, and we were watching our grown up kids, with their kids and it was the strangest feeling to see our front yard full of people. One of those perfect moments, when you feel like you just woke up and wonder how in the world did you get here...So fast. I want to put my arms around it and hold it tight. I feel so small and so inadequate and very unworthy of all that God has done.

I think they have outgrown the table.

I do hope the weather man is very wrong. He is saying that this weekend it will be 90 degrees! I can't even begin to tell you how that just scares me to death. Yesterday it was 87 and I thought I was having one continual hot flash.
I can hear that people are up now, so should get back to Grandma duties. You know, I always thought I was a slacker looking back as I never made things or was creative when I had young children. I know now, that it wasn't that. The day is never long enough, and when I sit down, I am too tired to pick up a hook or a needle. Not to mention, there are babies who just like to sit in my lap. There will be time enough again as this time passes all too quickly.
Have a lovely week,
~Kim~

He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

Wonderful post! Looks like you are making such fun memories.
I love your thoughts about the timing in our lives. To everything there is a season.
Enjoy this season of your life, and those wonderful Grands of yours :)
I hope some of the heat you are going to have makes it this way... I would love a warm day to be able to throw the windows open!

Smiles :)

Such a special time in your life Kim. Really, really enjoy it now as they grow way TOO FAST. The next thing you know, you'll be a great grandmother and this will repeat itself, only you'll have less energy that you have now.

Raising kids demands lots of sacrifices but so worthwhile.

I love seeing the kids all around the fire pit roasting hotdogs. Lots of little cooks in the making, Grandma Kim.

We're having some warmth air and sunshine today to melt our snow. It's +8°C or 46.4°F. this afternoon and the snow is melting.

Happy Belated Birthday to your grandson.
Hugs,
JB

What a joy, just to have everyone together, the cousins knowing each other as they grow up. It's getting more and more rare these days - you are holding on to the good life!

You just described one of my favorite things in all the world. Simple pleasures and times with my family that has grown to such numbers I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Soo blessed. I bet the little ones LOVED that weiner roast! Fun times...Yes, we need to cherish and savor the moments as they will pass just as quickly as they did when it was our kids who were the young ones. I see that some VERY warm 90's are coming for the next few days and I am soo afraid I will have to turn on my air in order to bear it. Can't stand the idea of getting that electric bill up already...sigh. Hopefully it won't last long. I don't want to slide right into summer without some spring first, lol. Enjoy your week-end!
