I am so sorry that I didn't greet you when you first arrived. You see your previous sisters, May, June, July and the worst of all August have been so brutal. I really don't think I had the heart this year to even think as much as normal about your coming. I thought because sometimes in years past, you just go along with the crowd. So thank you for restoring my faith in you this morning.
I could hear the sound of the ocean in the leaves on the trees. So September I greet you with a happy heart.
The sound of the wind chimes tinkling as the breeze passes over is I admit exhilarating. I sat and listened today to the sound of the hummingbird with his funny sawing sounds he makes as he sings his love songs to you. The blue jays I believe are even happier. As if a thing such as a happy blue jay exists. (Have you ever sat and listened to them gripe and complain under their breath?)
"Aw yes, September has arrived." My heart sings again that Autumn will finally be here and my heart and soul can finally be at home.
I am so glad you finally came! Welcome home September!
~Kim~
“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.”

your porch is always so festive and welcoming...how in the world do you keep it so clean??
sweet descriptions of september, i am welcoming her with open arms!!!
Hi Kim, Fall is definitely in the air in Colorado-our mornings and nights are so much cooler. I love fall! However, I did not want to start putting out all my harvest decorations, so limiting them to just a few items. Hope you have a blessed Labor Day weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
Your words were poetic, Kim! It sounds like a wonderful Sept.day. I see you welcomed Sept with a few lovely decorations too.
Enjoy your weekend-KIm
Oh Joy! I can hear it in this post and coming from your happy heart!
What gorgeous photos!
Happy September!
That was the most beautiful piece of writing I've read in a long time! Perfect!
So nicely said. September really is a golden jewel of a month !

Yes, I'm so glad for September, too! Our lows are supposed to get into the 70s this weekend, which means I can open the windows again for a while. I'm so excited! I can't wait to start making fall foods again.
Yay! The crickets are chirping! September is sublime and we love her! I love your tribute to this sweet month.
September is welcome here as well! This morning 46F and a heavy fog made it seem chillier. September is the beginning of the school year...not August, no matter what the school board dictates! Lovely decorations, Kim, and scream Autumn beautifully.
i love your porch, rocker and kitty...
Wonderful September words. I like the word-picture of a school bus being a T Rex gobbling up kids along the road!
These cool nights we are having are divine, but we still get very hot during the day here. Sounds like there might be cool days and maybe some rain coming our way! I'd like that.
Pretty front porch you have there, Kim!
Lovely post, I always love the coming of Sept, it and Oct. are my favorite months of the year. They are golden, and my heart sings with joy. We recently had over 60 days of over 95 degrees plus heat index, and several record highs. Just a couple of days ago it was 100 degrees in the shade of the porch st 4:00 pm!
So I'll not complain, but I do not want to hasten old man winter either ;)
Yes! Welcome September! Still September here in the southeast remains pretty brutal but it is a month closer to cooler weather.
Enjoy the change in seasons it is a beautiful thing.

That was beautiful. It was like a poem! I have to agree this year. September has made a beautiful entrance here. Thanks for sharing such positive thoughts.

You paint such lovely pictures with your words! This year, I am truly embracing this season. Before I moved, the arrival of Autumn only meant that the harsh Winter was not far behind. I am so happy to be here.
