10 Things I Love about Today.

Do you feel spring around you today? Every where I look, I see the new green leaves on the trees. Things are waking up and it looks like every morning, that new lace in all different shade of green has been painted on the trees. There is still the pink, and white interspersed among the green. Walking out in the morning, is that smell of spring that does make me go a tad crazy.

Here is my list of 10 things I love about today.

 1. The sky looks like someone was finger painting with blue and white.

2. After the rain, after the storms, life is really a beautiful place. The lawn is covered in diamonds.
The flowers all have drops with tiny rainbows to go with the heavenly smells.

3. Every day it is fun to go outside and listen to the cooing of the happy doves, to see the little flock
of finches that follow me around, and the blue jay that things I am so entertaining. Listening to my hens,
complaining about having to lay yet another egg.

4. Spring time lists. I like making lists in the spring time. Knowing that things that need a coat of paint, or
flowerbeds that need to get cleaned will get cleaned. There are just so many nice things to dream and think about especially today.

5. Daffodils. Need I say more?

6. Sorry, I just had to add a picture of a minion. They just make me so happy.

7. New roses.

8. The  incredible red of the Japanese Maples.

 9. Spring is like this, full of surprises at every turn.

10.  This month, for the first time, Nine years ago,  I became a grand mother. We had our oldest three grandsons born. Three days apart.

I still had four at home whom I was homeschooling. My youngest then was 11. Every year, I am so thankful that God gave me this life. In March, when we celebrate their birthdays, I am reminded that no matter how deep the water, how hot the fires, things can happen that are so out of control, you can with the mercy of God, survive. "  You can rise from the ashes again, and what looked like your hearts demise, turns out to be a blessing in disguise..

Its a lovely day to be alive. I hope your have a wonderful day today.
Thank you so much for the gift of YOU!!

~Kim~

"The word 'March' comes from the Roman 'Martius'. This was originally the first month of the Roman calendar and was named after Mars, the god of war.  March was the beginning of our calendar year. We changed to the 'New Style' or 'Gregorian calendar in 1752, and it is only since then when we the year began on 1st January. The Anglo-Saxons called the month Hlyd monath which means Stormy month, or Hraed monath which means Rugged month. All through Lent the traditional games played are marbles and skipping. The games were stopped on the stroke of twelve noon on Good Friday, which in some places was called Marble Day or Long Rope Day.  The game of marbles has been played for hundreds of years and some historians say that it might have been started by rolling eggs. In the past, round stones, hazelnuts, round balls of baked clay and even cherry stones have been used."

Hi Kim, it's so nice reading your 10 reasons to be thankful today and to see your heart is truly happy to see spring.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and the sky is blue but the wind is a bit cool and breezy. I can hear it's noise coming on the river in front of our front yard. The river is wide open with just a bit of ice on the river bank.

The snow is gone from the front yard and right now at 12:12 PM, it's 4 °C or 39.2 F. I can see little puddles of water instead of ice. That males me thankful too.

Have a great day. Hugs,
JB

Spring is really lovely there! We have a few sprouts (bulbs) but it will be quite some time before we have blossoms.
Don't the granny years fly by? It's been nine years for us, too!
Tell the blue jay to pop over my way, okay?

I like your list...and YES! SPRING is around us finally. It's early this year, but I'm not complaining, that's for sure! Your flowers are beautiful. I can almost smell those hyacinth all the way here, if I use my imagination! :) What fun to have three grandsons, three days apart!

This are all things I love, too. Except I don't have any minions.

Dad always had us look for diamonds in the grass and the trees after a rain.

You have many beautiful growing things at your house! Painting and cleaning the flower bed is on my list too! I love how the rain washes everything and makes things smell fresh. Even the sky looks like it had a bath!

I hadn't read the previous post yet so when I saw the Minion in your list I wasn't prepared, and I laughed so hard.

Minions make me laugh in videos, but you made me laugh by sticking that guy in there!
