I thought I would share that big old Give Ye Thanks rug. I worked on it off and on this week. My goal was to have it finished by Thanksgiving, I don't know if I will make it though.

“But housekeeping is fun. It is one job where you enjoy the results right along as you work. You may work all day washing and ironing, but at night you have the delicious feeling of sunny clean sheets and airy pillows to lie on. If you clean, you sit down at nightfall with the house shining and faintly smelling of wax, all yours to enjoy right then and there. And if you cook—that creation you lift from the oven goes right to the table.”

Your Give Ye Thanks rug is looking great and you're almost finished. How big is this rug anyway? The Santa looks like an easy pattern and you should have that done in no time.
I used to love to be in the kitchen but I'm getting too lazy to cook. Everything that taste good is not good for us. sigh...
Enjoy your time in the kitchen.
Hugs,
JB
Your rug is beautiful and I bet you'll get it done by Thanksgiving....Sounds like you've been a busy bee in the kitchen...Wishing you'd come to my house and stir up a few pots...Have a great weekend...
I saved money out of my grocery budget specially to buy a quart of local organic cream. I'm going to make Meg's chocolate mousse pie with it, and it will be to die for. :-) (The local cream doesn't hurt my stomach like the cheap stuff does.) Ryan wants buffalo chicken strips for dinner, so we'll need pie to cool the burn.
You will have that rug finished this weekend. I have faith in your speed. Plus I want to see that Santa rug. It's sweet
Beautiful rug, if the weather cooperates I will work outside, going to a quilt show with a friend and I enjoy household chores
The colours in the Give Thanks rug are so lovely Kim!
Enjoy your day in the kitchen and outside this weekend!
Give Ye Thanks is wonderful! I love the colors.
Santa will be fun to see too.
I'm wondering what you're cooking and baking? I need to bake since we'll be having bull customers coming this weekend. Maybe some cinnamon buns!
I so enjoy GT's words.
Thanks.
I love these close-ups of your rugs. Also like to go to your shop and see the gallery of ones available *and* some that have sold and have reviews. Some day you will demonstrate rug-hooking for me in person. :-)
Yes, please do tell what you've been cooking!
I do like the colours in the rug and the last quote from Gladys Taber is just perfect.
Enjoy your weekend - I think in my part of the UK we are in for some heavy rain ...
All the best Jan

I love Fridays ... even though we're both retired so technically every day is Friday, there's still something about a Friday. I love your Give Ye Thanks rug ... and I can't wait to see the Santa rug come together.
Have I ever told you how much I loved and adored Gladys Taber, thanks for sharing her quote!

My Friday was spent with Dh and I cleaning the screened porch, and putting the flower beds to sleep for winter, we had so much fun, I think we both over did it yesterday, we were so tired last night we could hardly catch our breath!LOL
So I am being lazy today! Actually I am resting for my eye surgery onTuesday! I have plans to go to Wal-Mart this aft.
I always come back and see if my comment posted, I apologize for the interrupted comment, my computer has been doing some weird things latley!
