Summer Days

Before I wrote a blog, my kids did movies. All summer long. There was always some
type of movie production going on and people running around with a video camera.

I hid in my room. When I watch these old videos I am never in them. Last night
they were going through old movies and this is one of them.

They were spoofing the Disney Channel intros. I am sharing it today.

Just for a change of pace.

Silly kids.

Happy Fourth of July

We will be hanging out today. Playing games, going
swimming, and watching fireworks. Lots and lots
of fireworks. My favorite thing to do is watch them from
the swimming pool.

I have to make up another batch of ice cream. The kids
had friends over last night so I made a trial run of this.

Then I told them I needed my freezer today for more
ice cream and I told them they had to eat it all.
No one complained.

I am almost done with crafty things. Really,
I made these because I had some blocks that were
a mistake. I always like mistakes I can use.

I also finished my pillow yesterday. It looks okay

I have lots to do before I sleep so I need to go get started.
Have a lovely day with friends and family.
Blessings to you all.

Have a Lovely Fourth of July

I hope that your days will be filled with joy and laughter
and all that is good.

This is a picture of last year. It is one of my favorites
with all of the older kids trying to play a game and having
babies on their laps.
That is one of the nice things about having lots of people in
our family there is always someone to hold a baby.

I took a picture of this because it makes me think of
all of the things I love about summer it is the smell of the
crispy hot grass in the lawn, the smell of chlorine from the pool.
The sound of kids laughing and playing in the water.

Pool toys waiting to be floated on and splashed with and
all of the things that make summer the best part of the year.
(I am saying that now because I am not tired of it yet.)

I hope you have lots of fun and as I do, I try to remember
the people who gave up everything so we could have the freedom
we have today.
One of my books I try to read when I can, is Lives of the Signers.
It is a reprint of a old book but it breaks your heart to see what happened
to the people who signed the Declaration of Independence.

Have a wonderful day,
~Kim~

A Few Things I Worked On This Week.

This pattern has been in blog land I got my pattern from
here. It was super easy and nice to make. We had a couple
days of perfect weather so it was nice to sit on the patio
and paint blocks.
My other project has been a needle punch I have been working
on I have thought about it for so long that I just got a piece of my
burlap and drew a huge star on it and I have been hooking it all week.
I am almost finished and then I will turn it into a pillow. I might
make a couple more. I might try red and white for the next one.
Here it is:

As I was outside taking this picture, I could hear across the road,
that the fireworks booths must be open. People over there were
perfecting their bomb making skills.

Gosh, it is early too. It kind of scared me at first then I remembered what
day it was, July 1st. I hope none of them go into the field across from my house,
it is a tinder box.
Well, have a lovely day,
~Kim~
