Thankful on Thursday

I woke up this morning to another perfect November day.  Haze and fog rising in the field across the street and the fog rising in the pasture. The moon was beginning to set in the layer of ground fog, so it was beautiful to wake up to, as it lit my room. I was as the song says counting my blessings one by one. Here is  a short list of blessing for this week.

  • My husband who understands and listens and together we are a nice team.
  • Our kids and the lovely people  they have married.  Each one if gifted in a unique way, who are so precious to us.
  • The lovely eight grand children that give us unspeakable joy. With more to come. :)
  • Trials that open our eyes to these gifts.
  • Last year the hazy days hurt. I was spending more and more time with the blinds shut. This year, it seems like a miracle to be able to go places, to greet the day. To feel like this is the first November I have seen in years.
  • A simple life.
I was reminded this week how much I have to be thankful for and how much the Lord had given into our lives and filled it to overflowing. I catch my breath and the kindness and sweetness of the gifts that God gave us starting at the beginning when we said, " I do."  Life can be hard, it can catch us off guard,  in an instant.
It is those times when I can hear Gods voice the clearest, and for that most of all I am the most thankful.

It is always nice to be Thankful on Thursday.

  3. I've been thinking of doing thankful posts, too! Glad you started off the tradition. :-)

Last night I had an allergic reaction to pork, and this morning my computer isn't working right. First world problems?

  5. Kim,
What beautiful thoughts today to go with your pretty pictures.
We are indeed blessed to have such wonderful families and I know that you are so grateful for yours.
Life is so unpredictable and it is wise to let our loved ones know how much they are loved, and appreciated.
