A New Week

This is only the second week of August. I thought there would be a bit of lazy days and I would just slide into September. June was crazy and July even crazier. I have decided I am not even going to presume anything will ever be normal again. Because well, I don't know what it is. I have read that we only have today. Lately, it seems I only have a hour at a time where I experience normal. I know I am not alone.

Do you have anything in your life that makes you feel like it keeps your sanity in check? When I first started home schooling in the 1980s I started buying these August to August Organizers.

Last year, I thought I would try something different, as I had been using them for so long and I thought I would branch out. It never did work. I would misplace, or completely forget what I had been using as a planner. This year, I decided that I was going back to the tried and true. Yesterday I finally sat down with pen in hand and started organizing my days. My brain finally felt such a relief and I felt so calm. Getting things on paper really does help quiet the voices that demand attention.  Not to mention trying to keep schedules in my head is becoming very taxing.

I had ordered some patterns and they finally arrived. I enjoyed my summer rug so much, I thought I might like to try these fall rugs.

Both patterns by Buttermilk Basin

I am still working on my little Dancing Witch. It will be time though, to turn my attention to fall things.

Two of my boys and my nephew are on Jury Duty this week. Both Ron and I have been called this year. I am so surprised when I hear of people who don't get called or have never been called for jury duty.
I hope you have a wonderful week, doing lots of normal.

I'm with you with having to write things down on paper to stay on track.
I'm a list maker. I have long term and different degrees of urgencies things that needs to be done now or some day, list of want to do or get. I always have more things to do that i can do but at least I get some satisfaction of crossing some things off my lists.

My plans are always interrupted but I expect that so I have to take it as it comes. I plan and God chooses another plan. I love that batty Halloween rug. So cute. Have fun. I've been hooking on my abstract rug about 10 0r 20 minutes a night if I'm not too tired. It's pretty stress free.
Enjoy what's left of summer. It felt like fall here this morning.
Hugs,
JB

I know how you feel! I hadn't written anything in a few days and my brain was going a million miles a minute when I got up this morning. So I wrote for a while and it quieted the voices right down.

It's cool and cloudy this morning--so lovely! We're supposed to get that Gulf Coast heatwave by Friday, though, plus monsoon moisture. AC, don't fail us now ...

I must be getting old as I never needed an organiser before but I have been more disorganised lately I'm thinking it's time!
Love all those new rugs you are going to have fun hooking!

Love the new rug patterns. They will be such fun to do!!
Some days I make lists, and others I don't ... it just depends.
This summer has just sped by. I can hardly believe we are into the second week of August~

Enjoy the rest of this week.

Maybe they have a hard time finding good people for jury duty in your area! That is sure unusual that so many from your family get called.
