Friday Finishes...Not!

I keep thinking if I have a dead line for myself, it will make me finish more things for a post on Friday.
There is this thing called life that just seems to get in the way of my sewing. One of the things that I read a long time ago and the older I get I think it is very true.

Finding Holiness in the Ordinary:

"Henri Nouwen, in his book Out of Solitude, tells of an old Notre Dame Professor who had always complained that his work was constantly being interrupted. Like so many of us, he longed for the freedom to concentrate fully on what he considered important. Late in his life, however, the professor came to realize what he wished he had known all along that the interruptions were his work."

" The interruptions are the work. The pieces are the whole. We cannot wait for a total, personal revelation of all that God has for us to be handed down in one lump sum. God reveals Himself to us bit by spiritual bit. Even our broadest visions and our highest goals, once we know them, must be broken down and lived out in the small particulars of our every day lives if they are to have meaning."
Claire Cloninger
When God Shines Through

So every time I realize I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, and not getting a single thing I planned done, I jerk myself back to reality and say this whole page to myself.

I planned to show you all of the things I didn't get finished, but my computer did updates this week, so it won't read my card. So you just have to take my word for it. Lots of things started just not finished. I drew out three rugs, freehand. It was so much fun.

I hope you have a lovely Friday and a even more wonderful weekend.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
~Kim~

GREAT quotes today, Kim! Isn't it true when raising children? The snuggles on the sofa and the calls from the children are the very meat of life. LOVE IT!
Let's just quit trying to quantify our tasks. Ha! I wish it were so easy, right?
Happy Friday!

wonderful quotes and thoughts. I think sometimes we ask too much of ourselves.

Have a blessed weekend.

I love Henri N.'s books and have several a friend gave me.

I had such interruptions today as I had planned to hook but Instead I spent the afternoon playing with my great grandson, 18 and a half month old. I'm tuckered out and now it's time to go feed the calves. His dad is helping getting a new roof on so they did the preliminary work today and the roofing work starts tomorrow and my grandson will come again tomorrow.
Hooking will have to wait.
Hugs,
JB

What a lovely reminder. :-)

I hope you have a nice day! We have a huge storm coming tomorrow, and today we've had some rain and thunder. It's like a monsoon, only without it being 110.

I loved the devotion
I think it is very true!
Loved Grandma too, wish I could paint like her!
Loved that Tuck movie, but oh too sad.
Lots of love here, and for your chicken too, she would make a great rug pattern.

I think God allows interruptions to see how we handle them. Angels unawares....

Such good quotes, Kim. Somewhere I read that these interruptions are "holy distractions" and I am often reminded of how true that is. Sometimes it's the rabbit trails, that we think lead us astray from the focus, that are the real gifts in life. Thank you for the reminder.

I always enjoy the quotes you share Kim, so much food for thought, I too have felt like a chicken with her head cut off many times, but for some reason, things get done, and at times I even amaze myself. ~smile~ But you always get so much accomplished! Have a blessed week,
Blessings,
Sue

I loved this. We are blessed to be able to do the ordinary things. I also love this quote from John Lennon, Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
