Happy September!

Happy September!!

I am so happy to wake up to a new month. My thought was, " Oh September how I love thee!

I love September because:

Fewer and fewer over 100 degree days.

Zinnias are blooming fireworks and the mums are starting to show up everywhere I go.

Leaves start falling bit by bit.

We have all kinds of migrating birds coming through, and then the flickers return home. I do miss those woodpeckers and the little holes they leave on the ground because they just love to eat ants.

Maybe a beach trip, because the crowds are all gone.

Everywhere I walk will be surprises in the trees and in the sky and on the ground. It will become cool enough to get my field of dreams put to bed, my flowerbeds all cleaned and maybe some mums and bulbs to be planted for the spring. The house will be decorated with oranges and browns and yellows. The smells of baking apples and pies and cookies. Maybe some rain will come our way. Lots of wonderful things to think about when September shows up. The walks in the morning are just glorious. With the smell of fall in the air.

Have a lovely day,
~Kim~

september always brings a feeling of 'hope' to texas, too - cooler temps and maybe some rain to green things up a bit!

Well that makes me want to welcome fall, but yesterday at the lake I was still wanting summer.

I keep hoping for those fewer hot days but they're nowhere in sight yet. You're the Texas of CA, we're the Texas of SC. LOL It's so hot today that I almost didn't take Tuck for his morning walk. And he almost didn't want to go. Ha! It was so nice having a Monday off from school. This year we started back on a Monday instead of a Wednesday and I think it messed with all of us. :)

Yea, September is already here and we still have very high humidity today. But you're right, I love September too but I wish the days weren't getting shorter. I love walking in the morning too and I'm grateful for cooler temperatures. There was lots of fog this morning.

I'm cleaning flower beds and thinking how I should change some. The perennials are getting over crowded.

I work without break for most of the day and now I'm ready for a nice shower and my PJs.

Hugs,
JB

I'm happy you are welcoming September. Sorry but I am not. I do love fall but it's what comes after it that I hate :)

Yes Kim, I would have to agree. September is always a welcome month. Though October, I think, is my most favorite month of all! Have a great weekend.

Beautiful thoughts and photos. We sure have been enjoying the cooler mornings on our walks. Still heats up in the day, but you can feel that coolness coming very late at night, and early morning. It gives me hope FALL is just around the corner. Now if we could just get some rain! Thanks for visiting my blog. :) Happy weekend to you!!
