Sliding in Sideways

I feel like sometimes when the weekends get here, I just slide in sideways to greet them. Do you feel that way? Summer is back, after a couple of 97 degree days we are back into the 100s. It is funny how just a couple of degrees changes things. Not to mention there are fires and the smoke makes every feel hotter and breathing hurts.

I didn't want to talk about air quality. I wanted to share a few of the trees that Ron has been working on. I really liked these. My favorite tree he is still working on, I will show that one when he is finished.

This one reminds me of a dancing girl. I don't know why. He makes the little pots too. I like nothing better when it is so hot outside to sit side by side, me sewing and him sketching or getting his wires ready or watching him make pots.

This next copper tree was a test for himself to see how fast he could make a tree. He wanted to be able to show people how to make them and he did a few wires and he finished this tree in a couple of hours. Making the pots though take a bit longer. I think it takes about three days to make a pot.

Now this next tree, is my favorite. I think it is so pretty.

This one is a bit bigger than the others. It reminds me of the White Tree of Gondor. In Return of the King. By J.R.R. Tolkien. Notice I didn't say Peter Jackson. The one in the book.
I loved the way he did the roots.

He isn't quite finished with this one, but I thought it was nice to see it before it is completely finished so you can see his work.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I hope where ever you are your days are filled with sunshine, and joy. That if the rains come, they will be soon replaced with rainbows.

I love those trees! I see why the white tree of Gondor is your favorite. It looks stately. :-)

The monsoons are starting up here again today, so maybe between that and that Hawaii hurricane, it'll blow away your bad air quality.

Yes, we are going to heat up into the 90's today too. And it's kind of humid again...weird. i LOVE your hubby's work. Especially that last one...sooo neat! The roots are really something. I can't imagine doing something like that. Enjoy your week-end Kim!

My favorite tree is also the last one. It looks so graceful and I love the roots showing it's strength. Ron is really an artist. Beautiful creation.

It's raining here today again. I sound like a broken record. I hope that your air quality improves soon and that you're at a safe distance from wild fires.

Sliding sideways into the weekend sounds like fun.

Hugs,
JB

Ok.. well, one thing is for certain; your entire family is talented!!
I had no idea that your husband made trees like that.
Beautiful!!!
Are the pots turned from wood, or are they clay?? I can't tell... sorry, old eyes here.

Sorry about the return of the hot temperatures. It's especially hard, when we have Fall wishes in our hearts :)

Hope you all have a great weekend too!!!

p.s. love the quote!

I do feel like I slip in sideways to most weekends. I never really am quite ready though this is the way for most I believe. To have a nice little meal and be outside a bit is such a nice gift and blessing.
The trees are fabulous. Catherine xo

I just love that silver and gold one too. It reminds me of the gorgeous, big oak trees up on the way to Johnsondale. They are so pretty, and in a way mysterious. I remember sitting and watching dad make a tree that night we were all there. Was it Christmas? It was so mesmerizing, and just like that, there was a tree! :)
