Finished Rugs and Other Projects

September is just around the corner. It is time to put away summer things and turn my mind to fall. Which means, I have to stop the procrastinating and get my summer projects finished so I can move on to fall.

Here is some of the rugs that this weekend I will be binding. I want to start fall rugs but I just can't let myself do it until these are all completely finished.

This is one of my favorites. Emilie asked if she could have it for her house. That is another reason to finish it so it can go to a new home.

I got this pattern out of one of my old copies of the Wool Street Journal. The rug pattern was designed by Robin at Bird in Hand Primitives. It was a fun little project but it took me way longer than it should have.

I made this little mat again. My grandson took the first one home. I liked this pattern so much. It was fun to hook and it has all of the elements I love. The pattern was done by Cathy at The Orange Sink.

I did this one again. I still like it so much. I think I spent so many years staring at this pattern. I would wish I was a rug hooker so I keep doing it over and over.  It has all of the elements I love and looks so old fashioned and nice on my bench. Well, it will after this weekend when it is finally finished.

One the days when it is just too hot to hold the rugs, I would do these counted cross stitch designs I hope to finish them up as well this weekend.

I am also working on my penny rugs. They are so much fun. I just wish it was colder so I could sit in front of a fire.

Both kits designed by Cee at Diary of a Rug Maker.

We will see how the guilt meter goes, as my flowerbeds really do need to be cleaned and my flowers need to be dead headed. I know that Labor Day weekend is a holiday, but Ron and I always thought it meant work until you drop as a way of getting ready for winter. I have been on the computer and he is of course outside working.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, I hope where ever you are it is beautiful,

See you in September.
~Kim~

Oh wow Kim, you have been busy with hooking. My hook is still cold and buried in the drawer.

I've been weeding like a mad woman. Everything is going to seeds this time of year. I'm enjoying the cooler weather.

Hugs,

I love those rugs ... every single one of them, although I'm partial to the ocean one (since the beach is my "happy place"). Have a fabulous Labor Day weekend!

Hi dear Kim, thank you for the kind words on Pom Pom's blog (she sent me a note). See, you can't get away with anything! You should enter my drawing for the old Stillmeadow Cookbook! Will be drawing the winner next week. Cheers to you! Happy Labor Day.

Is it my imagination, or do you have way more going on with needlework now that you have your eyes back? The rugs are gorgeous! I have no idea what a penny rug is but I can't wait to see the end result. I would love to put all things summer behind me but these 90 degree temps just won't allow it. I'm so over summer. Hope all is well over there! Molly is in San Francisco this week. The boyfriend wanted to go and wanted her to go with so she did. Even though she's scared he's going to drop the 'L' bomb. LOL

Your rugs are so detailed and pretty. I'll bet they'd feel soft under my feet! Great job on them. Yes...I'm still here...just haven't been able to sit in front of my computer for long stretches of time, and viewing the blogs I follow on my small, portable device doesn't go so well. :)

Great to meet you Kim . . . thanks to Kerin who I know and who is introducing us. Rug Hooking is such an ART . . . I have a friend who searches for wool that she can felt to use for her rug designs. She does some gorgeous pieces! I look forward to seeing you again and again . . .

Hello Kim,
You know I'm a huge fan of your handiwork!!
I love all of your projects, and each one is so beautiful!!!

How nice that Emilie will have the ship rug.

Love, love, love the Pineberry Lane witchy-poo!! Adorable!!

Hope you enjoyed the weekend some. We always work away the Labor Day weekend, as well.
There is something about this time of year, and having that extra long weekend that just gets us going on winterizing the place, and finishing up summer projects.

Love the quotes :)
Makes me think of my own childhood.
We never knew we were poor, because we were so happy!!

Love,
K.
