In The Garden

I finally have some new sunflowers. It is so nice to see them blooming out in the garden. Today we should hit 108 degrees. I have already started my early morning watering and getting everyone situated to withstand the heat.  The pool feels very nice. The garden loves this heat and you can almost see it growing.

I have tried to get the garden in one shot but I can't so I can only give you bits and pieces at a time.
I think it really is my favorite garden of all time.

The peppers and the tomatoes are really growing too. We have been alternating between Epsom Salts one week and More Bloom the next. It seems to be working as these plants seem to be really putting on the blooms right now.

I wrote the above I really didn't think it would reach 108 but we broke the record and we are at 109 and I bet we reach 110. Or at least here. It is really hot outside. The good thing about this heat is that laundry dries so fast. I had my sheets done in about 30 minutes. My poor chickens don't really understand.

Another good thing is it won't be like this tomorrow, only 102. Then we have marine air that will make it in and then just low 90s. That is very nice.

I went out just a bit ago to look at the garden. The only thing that is really happy is the gourds. I think they have shot up since this morning. Aw well it is summer. I like summer.

Have a great week.
~Kim~

What I wrote earlier this year, when I was at my lowest in my journal.

" Beautiful Caves of Pain."
I will give you the treasure of darkness,
riches stored in secret places, So that you may know I
am the Lord, the God who summons you by name."
(Isa. 45:3)

" In the days of my life when I felt darkness engulf me,
I became acutely aware that each minute I had a choice to make:
To seek or succumb to sadness."
Author unknown.

It is so nice to be here, right now. The above passage comforted me so deeply. I knew that whom ever wrote this understood and wrote that for me.

My goodness, Summer is certainly in your neighborhood this week! I don't think I could breathe with those temp!
We lived near Phoenix for a year, and I remember thinking my lungs felt as if I stuck my head in an oven, and took a big breath.
We lived at the pool too :)

On the up side, gardens LOVE the heat, and yours seems to be thriving.
I adore that sunflower!!

I rarely re-read my journal.... you've made me want to do that.
It's amazing how much something as little as time, can change things. For better or worse... time marches on.

Hope you have a nice evening.. enjoy this Summer's night.

Ugh, so hot! It is making the pool warm up fast, though. The kids are swimming every night. Don't get too hot out there!

I think I remember that you have to squirt the chickens with the hose! Is that right?

Oh my,my,my, I would melt in that heat. I don't do well in the heat. I must be a polar bear, hahaha.
Your garden looks very nice. So many plants and absolutely no weeds. You sure have everything under control. Of course, it helps having a nice big pool.

Have a nice day Kim.
