Storms and Things I Made

This morning it is cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain. We will just get dust and wind. It doesn't matter, I will take it over sunshine. I have mentioned before that I have two cataracts, living in the valley like I do and the early years of trying to get that perfect tan have taken the toll on my eyes. This last week because of the haze it has made it very hard to see so the break from the sunshine is wonderful.

I was finally able to finish up my big crow this weekend. I needed Ron to cut the wood that the crow is sitting on so I could finish it. He was working on the chicken house so of course I just didn't have the heart to ask him to do one more thing. He cut the wood for me this weekend and I was able to finish it.

It is a pattern I bought last year from Tammy Franck at Rock River Stitches. I still have plans to make it in red wool for the winter. I think it would look pretty as a cardinal. It is very big and it looks wonderful on my table.

This is my rug I have been working on. I love this rug and I love how it is turning out. This is from an old book I bought in 2002 by Whimisicals. It is called Woolgathering. I have enjoyed this rug very much. I spent so many years dreaming of hooking this rug so now I find myself just so very happy to finally get to do what I love. I just love handwork and rug hooking and anything to do with fiber art.

So just some odds and ends this week. I hope you have a lovely week too as we race towards November.
I do think time seems to have just accelerated it just seems to go so fast.

Blessings to you all,
~Kim~

My hubby has cataracts ... you both are way too young to have developed cataracts. ;-)

Love both the crow and the rug!

The sun is shining nicely here today and the temp is at 56 right now. I see the opthamologist on Friday and I will find out the state of my cataracts.

Cloudy and cold here with squalls of snow. I like your crow very much, and I like the rug too. I'm curious of its measurements. Is it the size that could actually be put down on the floor in front of a kitchen sink? It's sweet!

LOVE that big crow - I might just have to order that pattern make one of those too! And your rug is looking great - I especially like the grassy hill and the way you hooked it!

Wow... great crow and pumpkin made with your own hands and a little help from Ron. It looks great on your table.

We are having rain and it's a damp cold that goes to the bones.

Your are a fast hooker, nice little rug and it must feel nice to finally have plenty of time to work on it.

Have a rainy week and then you'll be happy to see the sun again. I agree, you are way too young to have cataracts.

Hugs,
JB

He looks great! I think he would be very nice in red too. Isn't today wonderful?? It was so nice driving around in the rain, and now it's getting so cold I am all bundled up in my sweater. :)

So sorry about your cataracts, Kim, I will be praying for you. Your crow and rug are so pretty, I so admire your talents! Our weather is so unbelievable we had one night of a freeze, and have gone back to nice temps, with no real cold weather in sight. But this is normal for us. ~smile~ lways a joy to visit.
Hugs,
Sue

The wind has blown all day here and everybody was sneezing at the doctor's. We have lots of clouds and you can see places where it's raining, but the rain evaporates before it hits the ground. Red, red sunset. I'm so thankful for cool weather. I just live your big crow! He'd make a good cardinal, with maybe some fake holly with berries.

I like your list of things that are "fun"! But I know what you mean...some of my friends don't understand my love of blogging either! Cute crow and rug!!

That is a mighty handsome black crow !
I have one that is similar, made from wool with a "sadle" of pennies on his back. Looks like your rug is almost finished...beautiful !

Hi Kim, I love your black crow-great job! Girl, I'm surprised that someone in junior high, like you, would have cataracts....you are way to young for them. I'm like you in that I lived in the sun and tanned too much(I still think a tan is healthy looking though); I've got age spots to show just how much I tanned. It is cold and dreary here today-we are staying inside for the most part. Praying your eyes are healed.

As I said before..I love your work. I also love following you on Pintrest because I see what you are being inspired by. Great job! Sorry about your eyes...mine have started to be really bad and I never had trouble until my late 40's ..no fun.
