Just Chatting

Last weekend I downloaded Picassa 3. What has happened is I come in here to write a blog, and I go into the program for Picassa and start playing around with my photos and I never get a post written. Or what I was going to write about is gone from my mind and I have used up all of my time. I think I am addicted to that program. I am having so much fun. I have all of these pictures that have been on my computer that now with a little bit of magic I can show them to you. Most of these pictures today are from a year ago. These were from a package called Red Sunflowers. I am so glad I took pictures of them. I bought the packet of seeds from one of my favorite companies. Renee's Garden Seeds.

Last year when I planted all of these Zinnias  I took lots of pictures but I never liked the way they looked so I didn't  post that many of pictures. It was nice to be able to look back at last year and see this part of my garden. I will be planting another one next year.

This morning I decided I need to separate my roosters from the hens that hatched in the spring. I have 10 roosters and 7 hens. The roosters will be going to visit this man I know that has a feed store. I will only keep the one rooster that is the father of them all. All of them are going even the little black one.

I have that feeder in my chicken house that the snakes always live under. This morning I decided to move it and sure enough there was a snake living under it. I was so glad Ron was standing right there. He picked it up and took it out to the front yard and put in down a gopher hole. I say bad words when I turn over the feeder and there is a snake under it. I just can't help it. I will be glad when it cools off and we can tear down this old one. I am so tired of wild life scaring the life out of me.

I sure do miss pumpkins. Next year there will be at least 1/2 of acre of them. I am going to grow every color I can think of and in every size.

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Megan is having another giveaway for her Bumblewood Products. This time she is giving away a 25 dollar gift certificate for all of her amazing Bumblewood products.

Have a lovely day,
~Kim~

i love your red sunflowers! so pretty! and i use picasa to edit my photos, too.

i use the freebie download and usually just use it to crop, brighten or darken and add my copyright blurb. it's also nice because it downsizes the photos for easier loading on the blog. :)

I love Picasa (I use the free edition) ... I don't do a lot of editing (cropping, straightening, and size reduction mostly) ... one of these days I need to play around with the other options.

I love the red sunflowers. I don't know that I've seen a red sunflower before.

I need to learn how to use a photo edit, Kim, just haven't taken the time to learn.
Enjoyed catching up, I might have mentioned it before, Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers, because it was the one of the first flowers I ever planted, it was at my grandmothers farm. I also like sunflowers, and you have had some real pretty ones, as are your zinnias. I too am looking forward to cooler temps. so we can start on our new chicken house and fence. I would probably faint if a snake startled me. Glad Ron was there. I am still busy with canning, this week grape jelly, next week field peas. Enjoy your Sunday evening.
Hugs,
Sue

I love your zinnia picture! It is so pretty and happy looking. I don't know how you keep moving that feeder, knowing there is probably a snake. If they were my chickens they probably would have starved by now. :( Hey is dad working next Friday? I was thinking maybe we could come for a visit if you're not too busy? I haven't seen you in forever.

It is a lot of fun to use a photo editing program. It can really make a photo pop and correct minor flaws. Love the red sunflowers, and the pumpkins too.

Happy soon to be Fall to you.

Velva

P.S. If you are ever interested in submitting a photo for my Wordless Wednesday posts let me know, would love to host one of your photos. Of course credit is given and a link back to your blog.

I don't blame you a bit for getting upset when you see a snake under the chicken feeder! You can be sure that I would scream very loudly if I saw one!
Your Zinnias are beautiful! I have never grown them, I think I could here, though. Your sunflowers are also gorgeous!

How nice that you are already planning next year's garden. I think I should have purchased my bulbs at Costco today. I'll have to go back.
Snakes freak me out, too! I hope you had a great weekend!

Your zennias are so beautiful. The earwigs ate all mine when they were just starting up.

I'd be too scared of snakes to even keep chickens in my yard. They seem to like to be where the chickens are.

Better luck with the pumpkins next year.

JB
