Playing Tag With Debbie

My friend Debbie at It's All About Purple, was tagged and she had the most delightful answers, because well you see she is the nicest person you will ever meet and she takes just beautiful photos. So I thought I would play along too. If you have a chance stop by and play along.

1. Where were you born?

I was born here in California. In Bakersfield and I have lived here all of my life.

2. Were you named after someone?

Yes, I was. My Dad's favorite actress was Kim Novak and my Dad's favorite niece was named Pamela.
So here for all of the world to see, my name is Kimmala Sue. The Sue is after my mother.

3. If you have children, how many?

I have six children. 4 boys and 2 girls.

4. How many pets do you have?

I have 11 chickens. I do not own the six kitty's who think they are mine nor do I own the dog who thinks she is mine. All of the fuzzy animals belong to the kids who have lived here and who still do live here.

5. What was my worst injury?

It is hard to say which one was worse. I was thrown from a tractor and suffered a bad head and neck injury and then years later was in a bad car accident that causes pain on a daily basis. Both effect me today.

6. Do you have any special talents?

I like to sew, and do crafts and make rugs. I like to work with wood and garden. I also love to cook but I don't share much about that on my blog.

7. What is your favorite thing to bake?

You know I really love to bake pies. I think that is my favorite thing but I also really enjoy baking bread.

8. What is your favorite fast food?

I don't eat fast food but once a year and there is a fast food place here in California called In and Out Once a year I eat there.

9. Would you bungee jump?

Before I had kids, I would have loved it. Something happened after that and now I am terrified of heights.

10. What is the first thing you notice about people?

I think what I notice is how they feel. Whether or not someone is relaxed and in a hurry or lonesome or hurting, if someone is having a bad day, I try to make them smile. If someone is lonesome, I might spend more time talking to them. I always feel like when someone walks into my life each day they are there by divine appointment and I try to see what it is I can do to make their day a bit better.

11. When was the last time you cried?

Well lately it has been about every single day.

12. Any current worries?

Not if I can help it. I am trying not to worry anymore.

13. Name three drinks you drink regularly.

I only drink two, coffee and water.

14. What is your favorite book?

The Bible

15. Would you be a pirate?

No, I get really seasick so I don't think that would be fun, not to mention pirates are bad guys.

16. What are your favorite scents?
New baby, orange blossoms, my husband clean or dirty, he always smells heavenly.

18. What song do you want played at your funeral?

Some kind of old gospel music. The kind that makes you want to get up and dance. I want it to be a kind of service that is full of praise and worship because I will be finally at home.

19. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?

I was just thinking about this today. I think it has to be that I am always so discontent with myself, how I look who I am and how much I weigh. I think that at my age I just need to be happy with how I am right now. Really no one cares. My grandson looked in my eyes yesterday and told me how much he loved me because I made him laugh. I think that is more important than anything else.

20. What is your favorite hobby?

Sewing and working with my hands.

21. What do you look for in a friend?
Someone who listens back. I have made lots of acquaintances that wanted to be my friend because I listened to them but it is harder to find a friend who listens to me. I have only found a few of those. Friends take time to listen to each other.

22. Name something you have done,
that you never thought you would do.

My whole life. I never thought I would be married, I never thought I would have children, I never thought I would be a mother in law or grandmother and I never thought I would be almost the age I will be on my next birthday. My whole life has been made up of doing things I never thought I would do. It is nice, I am always pleasantly surprised.

23. What are your favorite things to do?
Spending time with my family, working outside with my husband, sitting on the porch and watching the sun set. Dyeing wool, I love dyeing wool.

24.  Any pet peeves?

Just one right now, for a solid week the media has been going crazy over Anne Hathaway dress. Who the heck cares, is life really that mundane?

25. What is the last thing that made you laugh?

Explaining to Nik about the first time he came over and as I met him I said, " Just don't lay down on the floor." He looked at me like I was crazy but didn't say anything. Then last night telling him about a young man who came over and he must have been watching lots of that show called the dog whisperer. Sasha was barking at him and he just laid down on the floor. I was in the middle of introducing myself when he did that and I didn't know what to say and there he was on the floor. Sasha about freaked out and ran out of the room. So I was telling Nik and we were laughing because he had wondered why I had said that.

So thank you for reading all of this, I know it is very long. If you get a chance stop by and visit with Debbie at It's all about Purple. Thank you Debbie for tagging your followers.

That is really weird, that happened to me about heights too. I used to climb all over the roof at mom's house, and now after kids I am absolutely terrified of going over a cliff.

Who one earth laid down on the floor?! I don't think I ever heard that story...

Those were such nice questions and I loved all your answers.

I love how simple questions like that can help us get to know you so much better. You're such a sweet dear ... I am thrilled to be able to call you my bloggy friend. I would like to hope that we would be friends IRL as well.

And I had to Google Anne Hathaway dress to even know what you were talking about ... that's how unimportant that stuff is here. ;-)

It's not too long when it means I have the opportunity to learn more about my wonderful friend on the other coast! I might have to try this. Though today has really been more about sitting here playing with Tucker. I haven't even seen the dress. But then, I never watch television anymore- just my favorite shows. I did not know you lived with pain every day. I'm sorry about that. I guess I didn't know because you are so upbeat and positive everyday! Bungee jumping? hahahaha. No. NOT for me and my fear of heights and falling from them. LOL But I might consider being a pirate. Except for the keelhauling and whipping and dueling and...never mind. I wouldn't want to be a pirate. Captain Blood or not. LOL Have a great day!
